Going back 7 years here with this thread, lots happened since then but you will see the general banter and a similar problem with fans @MrRAWhite .. Quite easy to view old threads on here, not many bother though, people and situations change, no good living in the past, life can change at the click of your fingers.. https://www.not606.com/threads/just-enjoy-it-ffs.227132/
Don't need you to tell me anything here mate, haven't a ****ing clue who you are but saw you had an interest in my spat the other night? We have a grand forum on this site elsewhere but like a lot of the originals, we pop back to see how this board is doing, so toddle along sunshine and as you were..
It's not a boyband on here where it's cool to be an 'original' It's a Sunderland forum, a place for Sunderland fans... No one should hold a moral high ground because they've been here longer, or are an 'original'. The point is to debate about SAFC. I don't see where being here for longer comes into it. Like I said, time to move on mate, and good luck with your op.
boyband , you making it gangsta's paradise like? Arsehole.. You tell @brb it's time for me to move on? It's called loyalty to the site bro and the board, ****ing boyband you cheeky twat.. Thanks for the wishes though, noted..
At the end of the day, it's an Internet forum, loyalty doesn't really come into play. Maybe if you was talking about being loyal to SAFC, a partner or even something as stupid as a pub, I'd get where your coming from, but not an Internet forum. No one is asking you to move on. I'm just saying there's no moral high ground for the amount of time you spend on an Internet forum.
At the end of the day it's night, probably one of the dumbest thick Brit sayings ever.. Never question my loyalty to SAFC mate and don't try to patronise me with your bullshit comebacks either.. Just for the record by the way.. There you have it.. Now go back and lick your masters arse and stick me on ignore..
I didn't mean it was time for you to move on from the forum, just move on from the past. The fact that you've turned to personal insults, rather than a reasonable discussion, which I was trying to have, proves this conversation is pretty much over anyway. All the best.
It does, though. We've spoken for years and years. Most of us have met up on many occasions and some of us have become friends. Good friends. Loyalty comes into it, for me. 100%
Serious question, could you not just have moved on and avoided the thread without creating this and just let us who have been here from the start enjoy it as it's relevant to us?
Whilst i understand where the 'originals" are coming from isn't it good that there are a number of newer posters contributing to the board? After all, if no one new joined up and contributed then the board wouls eventually die. If, you agree that new blood is a good thing then surely their opinions count as well? Not trying to fan the flames at all, just asking a question.
Yes, loyalty between yourselves, but that's your personal friendships. Being loyal to a particular forum doesn't give you the moral high ground over other posters, and that's the only point I was trying to make. It's great that friendships have been made on here, but it doesn't mean that sets you apart from other contributors on here.
Touch of the nostalgias here, Joe. Shameless, MackemsRule, Cest, Outlaw. Some big personalities and very good posters on there. A lot of people never got Cest, but I thought he was a great poster who communicated his points very well.
Yeah I met Cest at the Colliery, nothing like I expected but a sound lad, along with Syd Hutch and Jerry, remember her Billy's mate.. I kept in touch with Baz (mackemsrule) after he left, he had a lot going on in his life. Outlaw was the Wrath of Paul McGrath on the old 606, lived in California, proper American, just fell in love with Sunderland.. Old times eh, me and MrRAW go back to about 2005..
These message boards always need new blood it's how we continue to grow. @Nacho wasn't here from the start but he's a great poster and one of the main guys on the board. Ozzy, I think you're a very good poster, tbh. I don't have any sort of issue with new posters and I don't want you guys to feel like that because then a divide will be drawn. My only issue, and it's the first one I've had with the 'RTG guys' is what happened last night and something I seen a couple days ago which I won't bring up because it didn't involve me. New posters are great, please bring more if you know any. Posters coming here like SAFCY, who seemed alright at 'face' value, need to understand that this isn't RTG. It's not a precious board and never has been, which leads me to my concern and that is that the dynamics of the board might change which is very different from all this original and newbie bollocks. If you guys genuinely believe me saying to somebody 'I didn't realise you had autism' is OTT and 4 RTG posters spoke up about it, then it's a little bit of the tough titties. This is how the site runs and newcomers in any walk of life shouldn't just come in and try to change what's acceptable and what's not. Pretty much anything goes here apart from pornography which will have you instantly life banned. When two posters get into an argument on this forum, it's almost welcomed and as long as both posters slog it out and keep it relatively clean then just sit back and enjoy the show. Calling each other ****ers and everything isn't a big deal. If it gets to the point where (and it does happen) one poster or both posters completely lose it and start wishing illness and sexual assaults on each other, then the mods on this site know that it's gone to far and that's the time to step in. A bit of very light cheek, if it can be called that, like last night is never going to be taking seriously.
Good post and i agree wholeheartedly. Personally i didn't see anything wrong with your post i just find it sad that Carty (Safcy) took it badly and chucked it in as he's always added value to forums in my opinion. I'll be here for a while as i enjoy the chat and the mods do a good job. A few wum's came over initially and where soon disposed of for which we are all happy i'm sure.
I kind of feel like you've got a chip on your shoulder about this. You came on here bringing this up and nobody is claiming that the 'oldies' are set apart from the 'newbies'. You've made an issue on a nothing thread that was just for people who were here at the time to look back on. I'm not loyal to a forum, but I am loyal to personal friendships. You are correct. Those naturally sometimes intertwine. That's life. Nobody wants to claim the moral high ground as far as I can see.
I met Cest once in the car park outside the ground. I didn't even know it was him until the conversation finished and Gordon give me the heads up that's who he was. He's a very unassuming fella and at the time he had his business at Chester. Not sure if he's still going or not, I only live a few miles away, I could always have a look, I suppose. I think Jerry still frequently pops her head in on here. Billy thought the absolute world of her, god bless him. I remember Outlaw well, he had some cracking tales to tell. Can you remember the name of the poster who moved to Canada and set up his own bar business over there? You may have sent him a package come to think of it. Somebody did anyway, I think...
All he had to do was stop pressing the report button every time I commented. He didn't just report the one post that he claims super offended him, he was reporting all of them - I told him to stop or he'd get banned but he'd lost his **** by then and couldn't be reasoned with. Nothing personal with me like, it's the fooking internet.
In my original conversation with joe. He was trying to claim the moral high ground by saying things like "I haven't got a ****ing clue who you are"... He is an "original" etc etc. To me that's wrong. I haven't moved over here from RTG, I've been a reader of this site for many years, and signed up recently. But when people are trying to separate the "originals" and the new people from RTG, I don't agree with it. I don't have a chip on my shoulder, only an opinion, which is what forums are for. I'm happy to stay of this thread, I'm not looking to take it any further off topic.
