Trying to twist things, as only a scousers is daft enough to. Where have I said the 2nd 3rd or 4th teams don't deserve to qualify, all I'm saying is any 'European Champions' worth there salt win there own league in the same season, and don't cheat by resting half there best players every Saturday in preparation for the Euro Cup.

We did it the hard way, winning it without putting all out eggs into the one basket. We fought on all fronts and still succeeded, something no other English club has achieved :biggrin:

There are many from that era that deserve a lot of respect for there careers with us, but I wouldn't say any of them will be regarded as legends. I certainly can't think of any that would get in our all time 11. The word legend can get banded about to much at times:biggrin:

So in your opinion how many pre Fergie "legends" do you remember and are they only legends based on trophies won?

Ok well we won the CL in 08, having qualified as champions and defended our league title that season too. If that makes you happy.

Liverpool have never managed a league and CL double, so can never truly claim to be Euro champions.

You can't be Champions of Europe if your not champions of England I'm afraid:biggrin:

We won 4 of our 5 as champions of England compared to Utd's 2.<laugh>

Best, Law and Charlton are the 3 standouts. Edwards had the potential to be one of the greats, and still probably will be remembered as that for his talent alone:biggrin:

Outgunned by who?

Of the 5 we've won only on two occasions have we entered not as champions, 78 and 2005.

You get funnier and funnier Dennis Law and Sir Bobby could be comparable with Dalglish as players, even though id still rate Law and Charlton above him. But please don't talk about George Best and Dogleash in the same sentence as you'll only embarrass yourself.

I don't think there is anyone other than a delusional scousers that would even suggest Dogleash was in that class. Every neutral that watched both play would tell you that Best was in a different class :biggrin:

You are without doubt mixed up feller, you banged on about Gerrard's lack of silverware making him a lesser player than Utds players yet you refuse to let the same argument apply to Utd legends.<laugh>

You have only won the CL once, and you finished 5th in the PL. We are not talking about the old easier tournament were only one team from each country were allowed, were you faced the best teams from Finland and Slovenia in the quarters and semis :biggrin:
