It's a difficult job, how are you supposed to see that from 2 yards when looking directly at it? Too much pressure on the refs and assistants.
It's amazing that while we haven't had that many games so far, there's been a lot of consistencies across all the games - pretty poor refs, poor judgement by keepers, while not many goals being scored, even though some teams have dominated.
You mean cited? If the officials didn't see the offence at the time, it can be dealt with retrospectively, yes. I don't think there is a citing procedure in football, as there is in Rugby.
But then seeing as Skertel's was putting in some rugby challenge's on Saturday, maybe rugby sanctions will be applicable to him...
We're made of tougher stuff this side of the border - you have to be if your subjected to the horrors of Bonnie Tyler and Shirley Bassey while having to put up with Brains beer as your national drink!
I didn't see the game, but seeing that clip it's a wonder the Welsh guy hasn't got a broken jaw!.. It's a pity there isn't a citing system. Wales could then cite Skrtel for violent conduct.
It was shocking how he went until the 87th minute before getting a yellow even! He was putting in tackles like that all through the game. Just lucky that we won and no one got injured from his tackles.
It is impossible not think that had that been a Wales player committing that disgusting foul the referee would have given a penalty and red card. The refs do seem to be following UEFA directive number one, no 'small' countries or UK teams to be awarded anything that might interrupt the flow of brown envelopes.
Still waiting to see if I'm going to be off on Thursday, 2nd on the waitlist in work fingers crossed.
We're thinking of borrowing Charlie Adam from the Scots. He knows how to knobble your whole team/Bale.
