Sorry I opened this up, wasn't meant to be the truth and reconciliation commission.....should stress that I have never felt any personal animosity from Irish, Scots or Welsh on account of me being English. Even when I have provoked them - when my son was about 1 we were at his Welsh great grandmother's funeral, and his Welsh grandfather's mates were saying 'he'll be playing for Wales then' and I replied 'only if he's not good enough for England'. Man, my (Welsh) wife shouted at me in the car afterwards. And my memory may be playing tricks on me with the Irish, drink has usually been taken.
