Excellent post. I found it encouraging, and it underlined much of the principles I feel a football club should have v just an XI on the pitch. A point raised, " May sound a bit harsh, but all the stuff behind the scenes, in community projects and building the youth system means jack ****"; Actually it goes a long way. Local kids coaches spending their free time coaching teams the right way need to see a fully functioning football club and academy, otherwise we may point the exceptional kids we do see to Cardiff, Norwich or Southampton. City may be making a rod to be beaten with here, but a football club in my mind has to also have a social context. It is time for BCFC to re-define itself.
