Just thinking Swanny, maybe Ron's betting house should be offering nice juicy odds to us loyal customers. Maybe he should offer 8-1 if you double the bet. <laugh>

Well, Cyc, to be honest I'm just trying to stay solvent for as long as I can. It was a hairy start for this bookmaker. Gazboy, Beeforsalmon, et al, almost put them out of business in the first week, but like most bookies The Virtual Betting Shop survived.

<doh> Well, after today's miserable effort the only way to stay in for a little while is to restrict bets to a max. tenner a go? Otherwise I'll soon be getting the 100 quid free handout from Ron. :embarrassed:

Does the shop take place betting only Ron, and if so is it quarter odds?

Sorry lads, bookies closed until further notice after irregular betting patterns have been spotted on a certain race. There's a minor tax issue with the sole owner as well that is currently under investigation by our inland revenue team, we are trying to track him down but he was last spotted fishing on a yacht down in France with Harry Redknapp and some U2 members.

Sorry for any inconvenience cause during closure. <laugh>

I've heard on the grape vine that said culprit has for some time been depositing large sums in an offshore account in the Seychelles. From there, the hot cash is then transferred back to the UK as direct investments, which are exempt from taxation. The gentleman know only as big Ronnie Two Buckets, is said to be not just the man behind the man who fronts the betting shop, but is also the mastermind who runs the legal arm of this nefarious outfit. Moneys are channeled back to his law firm, Cheatum & Howe, in the guise of a retainer. The retainer is then cancelled and the funds returned as proceeds of a bequeathment. So far, 14 dummy cousins, 8 non existent uncles and three never heard of friends have all left huge legacies to the shadowy figure big Ronnie. Several people have asked of the nick name Two Buckets. All have blanched at what they heard, and one has for several months, been subjected to regular night terrors.

I can take place bets at 1/4 odds Cyc; provided you find a credible way of withdrawing the accusations. I think you are confusing the VBS with another one set up by an ex convict.

Like Cyc, STH, you have confused me with another outfit. My books have been submitted to the VIR and they have confirmed that, for the last accounting period, no tax is due.

I will, of course, be contacting my lawyers to consider any appropriate action I should take regarding any loss of business resulting from these false accusations.

<laugh> The notorious Big Ronnie two buckets.

Couldn't find a briefcase to hold all his cash so carried two 30 litre bucket fulls of cash on each arm, estimated to be in the region of 1.25 million in each one at any given time.

Well renowned for his generosity to the homeless and for his ruthlessness towards authority. Two buckets could hug or kill you with a stare alone.

I believe when met in a dark alley Sth, he prefers to addressed as Mr. Two Buckets.
