Fair enough, but is he interested in playing for us any more! He could become a liability to the team!!!
Perhaps not, but I would rather get rid now, if we can do a deal with Chelsea. If he stays, he's probably off to Liverpool next season!!!!!

 

I just hate this whole attitude of now he's done this let's give up and sell him, giving in too easy.

He's got 5 years left time to show some cojones, he'll settle down. He won't sit on the bench all season.

If he gives us another brilliant season it won't be Liverpool he goes to

 

Letting players go as soon as they ask out, and giving in if they apply any amount of pressure, is a liability to the team. Further, if he wants to move to such a team in the future, he has every reason to play well, because they aren't going to buy a player coming off a season where they were bad and disinterested.

I know this is becoming a bit of a chorus, but I think its important we sing this in unison.

It is the clubs job to ensure that he isn't a distraction or a liability and to get his head straight.

Important we say what we mean and mean what we say. If PSG offer us E196m for him we might, quite understandably, be swayed , but otherwise ...

 

Let him train with the kids. No where near the first team for a few months. 6 months is a long time to sit idle, he will soon realise what a contract is. If he does a Morgan let him stay next year, if not let him rot in the reserves until he gives us that single season we are asking for.

 

I also expect him to stay. No evidence that anyone other than Liverpool wants him, and I don't think they will pay.

 

I've heard West Ham will break the bank to sign him and offer us a free aging centre back to soften the blow

 

just to cheer you up we'll be too busy trying to hang on to Coutinho to do any deal for VVD even if your board were weak willed enough to consider selling to us.

A source close to Virgil Van Dijk expects him to be a Liverpool player by the end of the window.

Liverpool ended their interest in Van Dijk after Southampton complained to the Premier League about an alleged illegal approach. They also apologised to Southampton.

 

MORE ON VAN DIJK

Liverpool's position has not changed since they issued a statement last month. We understand Van Dijk still wants to move to Liverpool. He has not gone on a Southampton training camp in France.

There is no suggestion that Liverpool have done anything wrong since they apologised and ended their interest.

Southampton's position remains that Van Dijk is not for sale but Chelsea and Manchester City are also interested.

Once again the use of outside sources to stir things up against us, surely there must be an investigation in to the way this matter is being conducted?
