    Me neither, we should have been open to selling VVD to a Champions League club for £50-60m when he made it clear he wanted to go. This saga is just distracting us from preseason.

    I dunno I think you're just remembering the Walker of 2-3 seasons ago. Poch is fantastic at improving full backs, he did it with us. Look at the work he's done with Danny Rose too.

    I think we leave it a week, see how Van Dijk reacts. If he doesn't change his mind get rid, but to Chelsea. Maybe ask for a player in exchange.

    Spurs absolutely mugged City with that. Just as Everton did with Stones, Liverpool with Sterling. City are there to be ripped off. Simple as that.

    Stones & Sterling are both very young and have exceptionally high ceilings. Did you watch any of Sterling last season or are you basing it on his England appearances? He was quality last season and I'm sure will only improve again this season. £50m is a lot of money for Walker, but in a market where good right backs are sparse and with the fees being thrown around, it's a fair enough price especially when dealing with Levy. If you don't think he's one of the top 3 right backs in the league then I honestly don't believe you've seen him play in the last 2 years.

    He is. No doubt.

    And VVD is one of the top two CBs in the league.

    This is all just conjecture though. I don't see there's any real evidence he's been overpriced, particularly seeing as we don't really know what our price is.

    it's a fair enough price especially when dealing with Levy. I

    Liam,you appear to be suggesting we should already have"got rid" of VVD for a lower price than it's being reported we would want? Then you write the above,I wonder why do you feel we should be any different?

    The same was being said for the likes of Barkley and Wilshere not long ago. Both of them were supposed to be 'the next big thing'. Sterling and Walker are good, very good on their day, but for 50 million, that's a joke, sorry. And don't get me started on Stones. Had City spent his fee on any one of hundreds of better centre backs in Europe last season, they would have challenged Chelsea all the way. And now they go and top it off by selling Ihaenacho for 20m to a possible rival. What are they thinking?! I like City fans, and I like the club in general, but I love watching them underperform, because they epitomise what is currently wrong with English football.
