The Virgil Van Dijk Stays at Southampton Thread

Liverpool are like a former world champion heavyweight boxer. Southampton are just a featherweight. However, when the two fight, it goes the distance, rather than, as you would expect, the heavyweight winning comfortably. Then, post-fight, the heavyweight's fans taunt the featherweight's fans, taking aim at the featherweight's smaller stature, and his having never been a champion. This understandably leaves the featherweight's fans somewhat confused, since they recognise - JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE - that the heavyweight's inability to win in the ring is extremely embarrassing. Then the Liverpool heavyweight goes and takes the So'ton featherweight's trainer and physio, thinking this will make him a better fighter, and his fans again take to taunting their rivals, simply because their fighter has more money to pay the trainer and physio higher wages.

Just wait for when Liverpool do finally sign Van Dijk. They'll be all over these pages shoving it in our faces and acting like they've won the league. That'll be fun.

 

VVD isn't going to Liverpool. I have already telephoned Les and told him that the very lovely Mrs Godders will deliver the ****ing dossier to FA Headquarters for him for free if that ****er Klopp come back again.

Me too mate, it's sad state of affairs when I think I genuinely wouldn't be bothered if we went down this season, almost welcome it, even.

Sorry peeps . I agree with Sky on this point . Look at the way we treated Trixter , sometimes , imho , this board is a bit to,precious for its own good .

Is it too much to ask for visiting fans to at least try and be a little bit witty/original with their banter though? I don't get offended when someone says something negative about my football team, I get offended when the 'jokes' they use are just plain ****e.

I've given up trying to change it now though. The board is set in its ways and I doubt it will change.

 

For a minute there I thought Liverpool had taken over the Southampton Not606 board as well.

Well I skimmed though it all and from what I can gather nothing has actually happened. Liverpool still haven't bid £75m. All I can say is to embarrass themselves this much they really must have terrible scouts and no self respect.

 

As a moderator I have no problem at all with other teams' fans visiting this board. Most of the time they're only fishing, so if you don't like them being here, don't engage. They're not breaking any rules just by being here, just as our own people tend to enjoy visiting their boards. All good clean fun!

 

Confused by the assertion that Liverpool have as much chance of silverware as the likes of Spurs.

Not in my mind. Spurs have the better team and the better manager. I suspect that Liverpool are better off worrying about their blue neighbours coming up on the rails, than thinking about overachieving and actually winning something.

 

Think Spurs will drop off quite a bit this year, Wembley factor.

Agreed, but Spurs are 'bottlers'. They need to shake that off, that's why I used the comparison.

In truth, I couldn't give a **** about either, and care less for their fans also...

 

Southampt

Southampton are like Naseem that used to spar with heavyweights and taunt them to see if they could land a punch.

As for Virgil going there, at this point in time I couldn't care less anymore. They will have to pay £50m+ and how many extra points/places will they get for that? Probably none or up 1 position max.

We will get a replacement in and how many places will we (likely) drop? Probably none. I think we'll actually do better this (next) season than last with or without VVD.

 

Would struggle to agree less. I visit other boards, but am aware that one should never outstay a welcome. This Sky character is just ****ing boring, to be honest. It matters not that he supports Liverpool. He is a boring prat with constant re-hashing of the same point. There is bugger all happening on the Vam Dijk front at the moment, so he could at least have the decency to piss off and come back when or if there is something to say.
