Cedric signed a new contract last summer till 2020

 

Ok so next summer Cedric will be going into the final 2 years of his deal, when we have generally sold in the past. Romeu will have 3 so we may have another year of him, depending on interest levels. Both of these contracts were signed before the VVD saga, and as far as I can remember when there seemed like little interest from bigger clubs

 

Still think that you are looking for problems that may or may not come about in the future. What about if we have a successful season and qualify for Europe? and what if Cedric and Oriol are settled and happy? There is also no guarantee that a "bigger" club will be sufficiently interested in either player as well and we certainly won't be giving them away cheaply.

 

I understand there's a need to look forward sometimes but do we really need to start worrying in September about people leaving next summer? Why not just enjoy the footy for a while?

In truth it is not so much that people are worried what will happen next summer as such. It is still on people's mind what used to happen year in year out. This year is the first year saints have made a stand to keep their best players. As time goes on hopefully Saints will keep to that policy as the top clubs tend to do. However even they sell at times so it is just worth remembering that.

 

Meh football is overrated, I'm just here for the meltdown.

I did say there was no point worrying about it now, get the season out of the way first and then see what happens
