Its a funny old game sometimes KS. Just because they arent all time greats or the best in the world at the trip, doesnt make them bad horses. Somersbys best form always gave him a shot at winning a Grade 1 eventually and it was nice to see the horse finally get his head in front. He threatened he could be ready for a big performance when he travelled so well for so long in the King George. Whether he can back it up at Cheltenham, who knows? Ryanair and Champion Chase both notoriously tough races this season, so he would need a career best. Possibly could sneak a place
In a perverse kind of way Zen I'm almost hoping Big Zeb wins the Tied Cottage. It wouldn't put me off Sizing Europe for the Champion CHase one bit as he clearly doesn't like Punchestown, but he may well drift a bit . BTW the Irish Arkle is looking pretty weak this time around, not sure we're going to see a potent threat from the Emerald Isle this season.
Agree with that 100%. If Big Zeb can't beat him at Punchestown then he won't at Cheltenham. And if he does beat him at Punchestown then I still don't think he can, but Sizing Europe might drift to a nice price.
Wayward: Very sad news :-( I cannot have Wishful Thinking at the festival mate, why on earth they are running him over 2m I cannot fathom! He wants 2 1/2 at least but hey ho good luck with that one mate.
Oh dear, oh dear. Sometimes, just sometimes, you do write some utter tripe King Shergar. How can you say that remembering how well he ran in this very same race last year. I am truly happy he proved you so wrong. He is a good horse, and has now one a Grade 1. Do agree his odds were mean, however!
