Hey, Bergy, I dont want you wearing a worn tie at my funeral, in fact I dont want you there at all, I much rather come to yours. Like Spike said to Harry, " I hope you die before me cos I dont want you singing at my funeral" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also the trick with riding a bike is to treat each and every car driver as a complete and utter w**ker, and watch their mirrors to see if they have seen you.
It was Cosi, I love it up that way, Hope Valley, over to Castleton for a full English Breakfast in that little cafe near the car park and over to Ladybower where they did the Dambusters Lancaster trial run's. I thought I'd been on every major road in the UK but I have to admit I don't remember the A54, however I will this summer seek it out and give it a go. I will also put every effort into not being included in the road death statistics. Although the way some of these guys ride on public roads is pretty crazy, if it can, it will and all that.
I stopped going 2 wheels the third time a went across a car bonnet. I was gonna wait for a team, but sod it, i want the numbers filled up. gimme 3 please
Yeah, The Devils Arse, The Speedwell Cavern with the pitch black boat ride, dont go in if you are claustrophobic, and the Blue John mines are a must.
Unless I've missed somebody posting, can I have 19 please Genji? And as Ernie said, Speedwell and Blue John are well worth a visit.
No, we didn't do Blue John Mines or Speedwell Cavern. What's the Devil's Arse then? We parked in Castleton in the car park near the café where Ernie had breakfast and walked up to Hollins Cross, across to Mam Tor down past Windy Knoll and on to pick up the Limestone Way back to Castleton via Cave Dale. It's a very easy walk but it's our first since hibernation plus I had an ingrowing toenail cut out last weekend so that curtailed our perambulatory excursions and I was keen to get out before the heat gets ridiculous. Quite warm today but fortunately sporadic cloud cover cooled things down now and then. Finished off with lunch at The Castle (pub? might be a hotel) being irritated by all the motorcyclists roaring through the village. please log in to view this image
I bet that was Ernie looking for the A54. Tell him to hoof-it. He's miles away. P.S. I'm thinking it's time to open a thread about Britain's best roads in Pits 2? It certainly looks as if Ernie and I (at least) could exchange a few notes.
Only 4 places left and no one's chosen numbers for our poor, over-worked, nails-bitten-to-the-quick moderators.
The question is: who's going to get that final driver position? Will it be WestCoastBoogaloo? Will the reinvented Paco Marveaux nab it? Does irishgreen have a part to play? Might it lure MannyF1MSC out of retirement?
For anyone interested in continuing the off-topic discussion of Britain's best roads, I have made an article in Pits 2.0 (which I hope will be enlightening for me!): http://www.not606.com/group.php?discussionid=161&do=discuss
He had a bit of a strop and he left. Let's hope he can cool down before the German Grand Prix where he will root for Schumacher.
