Marshall .. has been a great shot stopper until this season, flaps at corners and punches too much.

Whitts.. gets slower every match. Tonight every in swinging corner was telegraphed free kicks were abysmal.

Gunnar.. again slow without his long throws not worth much

OGS .. sorry to say but has to go.

We're leaderless and look like a mid table outfit playing out the season. There's an atmosphere of resignation, nay, indifference. I like Ole and I'm sad for him, but 25 minutes of decnt football the other day is not enough. Taxi. Now.
 
I thought Gunnarson changed the game to be honest. We were much better after he came on. His throws have not been great since that injury. However the facts remain that this was another poor performance and something has to give. Sorry Ole but you're on borrowed time.
 
If Middlesbrough were any good, we'd have lost by a shedfull not just the one goal - last night someone like Norwich would have thumped us by more than the 4 they got last Saturday. Boro were average at best, but forget the actual players out there in red, we were disorganised and lacking in leadership and self belief.

We had no answer to a mid-table standard outfit who came and did a reasonable job on side who are clueless how to break it down. There is absolutely no direction nor conviction about whichever 11 Ole puts out there. In fact, I think Manga last night was the 22nd player he's used so far this season in 7 games.

We have a talented but leaderless bunch of players who despite the soundbyte rhetoric from them about "sticking together", have no confidence in their own ability - and that stems from the manager - he has to go.

The worst decision was to put our best centre back so far this season at left back (when his left peg is only for standing on) up against a winger who we know can destroy defences given the time and room - which we gave him in shedloads. Oh, forgot, Ole doesn't know the Championship and the one person who could have given him guidance got sold 2 weeks ago. <doh>
 
Nathan Blake hit the nail on the head by saying if you keep tinkering the team, no matter what the reason, the players that you leave out are always going to feel they have been "dropped".
 
Yes i listened to Blakey and he spoke well. I can also see why none of the big PL teams bought Marshall, he has no distribution skills whatsoever. I feel let down at the moment, its no good having the best squad in the division if there is nobody at the helm who understands how to set up a team in the first place.
 
marshall is a top class keeper, why no team came in big for him i'll never know, he didnt have his best game, and getting crosses is not his best point, but he's captain for a reason.

agree about whittingham, he has a couple of nice touches here and there, neat and tidy, but overall contribution is not that great. does he need to be part of a 5 man midfield? i think he needs to be. the midfield was overrun today with dahli leaving connelly horribly exposed on the left flank, he did his best but is not a left back.

terrible atmosphere at the end. i must have been one of the few in the stadium who clapped OGS, at least he acknowledged the fans despite a poor performance by his players. i thought he deserved better than the abuse some shouted at him when he could have just kept his head down and disappeared down the tunnel like a lot of managers do&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;.<ok>

I certainly would never boo or abuse him, but I saw no reason at all to clap him. At the end he looked like a little lost soul - a boy in a man's game struggling in the hard nosed Championship.

This is his squad, his team and his tactics. He's got nowhere to hide and acknowledging the fans at the end was just a pale reflection on his ability - in fact to me it seemed like he was apologising for being there.

I don't think it'll be long before he isn't.

I did boo at the end. Not directly at Ole but at the overall level of s**t him and the players have produced in the 3 games I've seen (Wolves and the 2 homes).

I believe in the players ability to perform at this level, therefore my frustration is ultimately aimed at Ole I suppose.

I agree with your little boy description/assessment completely.
 
We have a great title contending team (ON PAPER). What we don't have is a great title contending manager. Last night was the last straw for me, I have never booed and will never boo, but I can understand the frustration of fans who did boo. There is no atmosphere, no fight, no guts.. Men Of Harlech doesn't even send shivers down my spine at the moment. I've discovered how much of a fickle fan I actually am, but, I place my hard earned money into a club with zero knowledge of how to run the damned thing!

That was a staggeringly bad decision. And so obvious to everyone. Bloke behind me was slagging off Connelly but he is not a left back.

Why is it that every team we play against this season have so much space out wide?
 
I said it after the opening game at Blackburn when Ole played Le Fondre as a defensive minded winger - he's adopted a "square peg in a round hole" policy and any more of it was going to hurt us.

Since then he's dropped Brayford and stuck Connolly out at RB (although he did a good job there), now he's hung him out to dry on the left side and he was dreadfully exposed. He should have placed more faith in Declan giving a chance to redeem himself, and kept Connolly in the middle with Manga.

Macheda out wide is another example of his insistence on doing it his way rather than selecting the right players in their best positions.

The supporters (and I suspect the owners/directors as well) have run out of patience, and Ole has run out of time.
 
I called for Connelly or Brayford at left back because of the total lack of any other options.

Any fb 1 on 1 with Adomah in space will have massive issues. I actually thought once Daehli was moved to the left to provide the cover Pilkington didn't we negated the Adomah threat quite well.

The issue for me is how slowly our midfield moves up and down the pitch. Time and time again their midfield ran past us resulting in one on one and sometimes worse situations for the defence to try and deal with. Ole seems to think throwing loads of players forward in any haphazard type of fashion equals attacking football.

Mbro regained their defensive shape quickly and were organised. Players backing each other up and communicating. When we turned over possession they were quick and aggressive getting forward. It's not rocket science and we'll get beaten in the same way every week at home until something significant changes regardless of who plays left back.
 
Fabio would have done a better job. He has quicker feet and would also have kept Adomah back a bit for them to double up on Fabio going forward.

However, not fit so end of.

Good point on communication. We didn't have any. Look at how poor our passing was.
 
I've seen absolutely nothing from Fabio to suggest he could improve any defensive performance.

I'm not sure that Dutch winger at Wolves is better than Adomah and he tore Fabio to shreds for 45 minutes he even bounced off when he tried to kick him!
