Cheers. I've stopped reading about it in the press now and just want it, and him, to go away. 2 years seems about right.

#Johnson Player says he told Sunderland club why he had been arrested. "I told them everything."

Under cross-examination #AdamJohnson said he told the #safc that he had kissed the 15-year-old and had been aroused.

#AdamJohnson says he told #safc everything from the start.

#AdamJohnson said he "didn't see it as a problem" to go back and play for #safc after being brought back from suspension.

Surprised at Sunderland, knowing what they did, they must have known all this would all come out and reflect badly on the club.

Johnson told SAFC he'd "made a huge mistake”
Adam Johnson told Sunderland football club’s chief executive that he “had made a huge mistake” and kissed a 15-year-old fan, Bradford Crown Court has heard.

Cross examining Kate Blackwell QC said: “You told Sunderland football club you had been arrested, did you tell them she was a massive fan?”

    Johnson replied: “Yes.”

Ms Blackwell QC asked if Johnson spoke to chief executive Margaret Byrne about what he has done with the 15-year-old and he said yes.

The thing for me is that Johnson has already admitted to lying to Police, so I would take this with a pinch of salt. It may very well be true but the fact that he has already told several lies would cast doubt of course.

So you're taking every statement Johnson says as a fact - interesting stand point.

Maybe you could take everything into consideration?

We suspend him, a meeting with his legal representatives, our legal representatives and the PFA takes place, next thing the suspension the club itself put in place is suddenly lifted

    http://www.thepfa.com/news/2015/3/18/sunderland-lift-johnson-suspension

Does it sound like we had legal rock to stand on in not lifting the suspension and making him available for selection?

Folk who come to try and turn this into finger pointing at our club really need to do some fact gathering and aply some common sense.

We only reflect badly to Morons is the top and bottom of it.

It has to be lies. Byrne is a lawyer so she would go in to such a conversation with a witness and probably a device to record the conversation.

Personally I doubt the conversation ever took place.

And why plead innocent at the magistrates, then confess it casually to SAFC?

    Utter nonsence

He maintained innocence until the day of the trial. There's no way he told the club and the PFA the truth imo.

Unfortunately, some are blinded by their dislike for SAFC. I deal with facts myself and there is nothing to suggest that Sunderland knew the entire time. Judging from their swift action [and that of Adidas] following his guilty plea, it suggests to me that he told them it was bollocks, or didn't tell them the full story.

Where's this from mate? As from the Sunderland Echo...

"He did not directly speak to Margaret Byrne, chief executive, but spoke to other members of staff about his admissions, AJ has said."

I came on here and mentioned this and most people agreed it must surely be bollocks, I highly doubt he admitted to grooming/kissing a 15 year old to his employers, with them taking no action. Absolute loada ****e!

If he's saying that he informed the club is in effect just another lie - the fact he's under oath to tell the truth - I hope he gets done for perjury too

So he didn't admit it to Maggie but told it to 'someone else'. The PFA and his lawyers had his suspension lifted. He maintained innocence until the day of the trial

    upload_2016-2-23_13-21-33.png

immediately afterward Adidas then the Club sack him.

Does it sound like the club or the PFA for that matter knew the truth?

He tried pointing the finger at our players yesterday and now he's trying to drag the club down with him. He's my most hated man now, he's gone way ahead of Jimmy Hill.
