not the best record I agree, but at worst could only turn out like a big daft Austrian front guy another championship team signed.
I don't care who sanctions signings. I just know that we've just lost £500k for a player who is inconstant. I wanted to lash out and unfortunately Redfearn was that person. I'll rephrase that. Well done Leeds board you lost £500k for an inconsistant player which by the way would be £200k profit. Oh and his out of Contract in the summer so Celino will see him walk out for nothing
I flicked through a few and wondered if they were all his, I guess they must have been but I would assume they were spanned over a few years as he does look somewhat different in some of them. I also wondered because in some of the goals you can see he is clearly 6' 4" but in others he either looked shorter or the whole team were at least 6' 2"
I think that is the main difference between Cellino and Bates (plus others). If Cellino thinks a player will be useful to us, he's happy to lose 500k or there. Austin may have turned a corner, or perhaps we didn't want to sell him to a rival being so close to us near the bottom of the league.
Celino has no Confidence in somebody or Nygonyi wouldn't have come in. We could have got money for this player instead of having him walk out for nothing which will happen because at the end of the day Celino doesn't want him and will replace him with another 2nd rate Italian.
fingers crossed this comes to nothing .... Bryan Swanson @BatesyLufc 14m14 minutes ago We're told Aston Villa have tabled a bid of £3million for Leeds United's Sam Byram. More to follow on @SkySportsNewsHQ #avfc #lufc
You're entitled to your view, but I think you'd make a better moneylender than Football Chairman. It's not all about money!
The two contradict each other mate, does it matter that we will lose £500k if it would only be spent on a 2nd rate Italian.. I am the first to question the quality of our signings, I am certainly not in the Cellino camp but keeping Austin and turning down a quick £500k is right in my opinion. If this offer had come in on 1st January he would have been sold, we don't want to unsettle the squad and if it were a case of selling him and bringing in a top drawer player I would have been all for it but with an embargo in place we are limited.
The emergency loan window opens in a week so as an article I read earlier points out... We can only sign loan players so no need for us to rush through any last minute deals.
As I said, fingers crossed! Can't imagine for a minute that they'd accept anything like £3m for Byram.
