I'd say that it's up to the scouser on the end of that jibe to determine whether they find it offensive, rather than the one giving out the jibe.

It is stereotypical, as I've said. But for my part, and I think most others here, it's not meant to be malicious.

But, if you're genuinely offended, I can understand that. I just wonder where the PC line is here? It gets to the stage where you're almost scared to say anything in case somebody is offended. But then, this isn't a place for the sensitive soul, is it?

I think most of us are intelligent enough to know the difference between banter, and insults. Otherwise, somebody needs to set a line in the sand. There's far worse insults being thrown around every single day.

I remember an interview with Enfield back in that day. He was saying how he had to go to Liverpool for an engagement, and that he was dreading it because of the way he portrayed them in his show.

But, he went on to say that he got a a great reception and most of them thought it was very funny. So, if that's true, you can't accuse Scousers of not being able to laugh at themselves.
