Yes, he's started threads about your 'Wum ****ups' or whatever. But, although that's personal, it's hardly insulting.

But yes, if you're engaging in personal banter, as Sucky and I do, it's best that you check that you both kind of know where the line is! That the other guy takes it as a banter, rather than insulting.

 

Well, I don't follow every post on that kind of stuff. It tends to get boring very quickly unless there's a somebody with a genuine sense of humour involved.

Very few people get banned from our board. If you're a persistent Wum, who's constantly disrupting threads then yes, you'll probably get a warning first. If you carry on.,......!

I don't personally know of any posts that were deleted unless they contained some kind of personal insult.

 

That's the point, HIAG plants the seed(the thread)and when posters try and retaliate they're classed as wums get warned or banned etc, now he's on the wrong end he's calling for bans ffs.

 

I haven't made any wum **** ups, despite HIAG's claims. And that's the point really. I have only ever responded in kind to HIAG's wums about me or Arsenal.

It's the fact that I dismantle his wums with ease that upsets him. It's the same pattern each time, he starts a wum, ****s it up, gets the piss taken and ends up crying about being bullied.

I also dispute the 'nasty personal stuff' claim. I can't speak for others, but my piss taking simply involves taking the **** that he has written, turning it around and giving it straight back to him. This is what winds him up so much.

 

Anyway, in a nutshell @NowsufferinginSpain you have summed it up.

This is what HIAG cannot grasp and he will kick and scream that he's been the victim of foul play.
Even when you pointed this out to him he started calling you 'prickly and stuffy'

On the other thread, the supermod brb has given him short shrift and he's there crying about the supermod a being wum ffs

 

If he's posted it in our board, then it's mainly for the Spurs fans. If it's on the main prem board, then of course it invited an open response. But again, it's the level of response. Yes, scousers suffer jokers about being thieves, it's hardy new! Harry Enfield was doing it 20+ yrs ago. It's generally mild piss taking, nothing more.

As to the rules of our board, I don't make them. I'd suggest you talk to PNP about that.

 

Ah, so HIAG supplies the bullets for Spurs posters to accuse me of being a racist (because of Suarez), accuse scousers of being members of the KKK etc and on top of that referring to us being thieves on the dole and all the other stereotypical ****e but when I have a go back its personal and poor old HIAG doesn't deserve it.

This is exactly what kicked it all off between me and HIAG, back on the Spurs board when he posted an Arsenal wum thread that predictably came back to haunt him. At first he was very happy hiding behind the other Spurs posters, putting in sly little digs, back slapping those that joined in etc. When it went tits up for him I tore his thread to pieces and that's when he when he started crying about being bullied and harassed.

He is the classic example of the phrase 'If you can't take it, then don't dish it'

We've banned people from insulting or abusing other posters on the Spurs board because it just descends into this mess.
You've all seen the fallout on other boards when it's allowed. Endless infighting and spats, resulting in people storming out.
It works for us. I haven't even seen anyone object to it on there.

 

I'm not aware of your being called a racist, or any other poster. Suarez was accused of it, as I recall. And not without justification. If somebody tried to justify his racial dig at Evra, maybe that might have done it.

The other bit is nothing more than stereotypical Scouse jibes. They've been used on tv by the likes of Enfield for 20+yrs.

I've joked with other Pool posters like Sky and Gonzo about that stuff. It's not meant to be malicious.

 

Just to play devil's advocate, but 25+ years ago Bernard Manning was on the TV making jokes about Blacks and Jews.
That was deemed acceptable back then, but by today's standards, it was downright abusive.

The point I'm making I suppose, is that the person making the joke can't really tell the person who's the object of the joke, what they should and shouldn't find offensive.

But you're correct, like I indicated earlier mate I'm prepared to take that kind of stick even though its a put down as long as others(who shall remain nameless)learn to expect a kick up the arse back.

 

To be fair Piskie has you on that one there , that's a pretty appalling defence. Would i be allowed to tell spurlock that he's got a massive wang or he's only good at sports as these are light hearted black man jibes (if anything these are "positive traits" and he'd probably love it actually then call me a ****).

I've nothing against it personally and by visiting the certain threads and knowing whos posting it (plus of course theres bants amongst friends/posters) you shouldn't be taking things seriously/feeling offended.

 

I should add, that personally there isn't much that I find offensive on here. It's mostly just banter and silly jibes. What pisses me off is when those dishing out those jibes, then complain when they get them back.

 

I have a huge amount of respect for Stephen Fry, but I'm not sure that would wash if you went up to a black man, called him the N word and then said 'you have no right to say that you find that offensive'

 

That's not what he's saying. He's pointing out that claiming offence means nothing in isolation.

 

Well most offence is within some context.
