Until he learns to put a shift in when it's not going well I wouldn't want him.

 

He's certainly not a better all round striker than Costa at present.

 

I agree, you get someone who plays every game with Costa. Kane is a talent when it's going well and a passenger when it's not.

 

Agreed, like you say he needs to find a way of contributing when he's not scoring.

 

He always puts in a shift. I've never seen any lack of effort.

He does appear to get isolated when our midfield isn't functioning. And has often been asked to play a lone striker role. Something he's not good at.

 

Alli is another one, he needs to understand when to help out defending and not be looking for space.

Maybe it's not a lack of effort but misguided effort, he gets isolated and drifts around looking for space but the ball never gets to him. Alli is the same. It's not like you're having a bad season but there's small details may make a big difference to you over the season.

 

Yeah but you don't watch him week in week out. You are misreading the stats obviously and you should have an inferiority complex by rights.

 

In most games he's very effective. He's a natural striker, as his goal tally attests, but he needs service. He's not the type of striker who's going to run 50yds past 3-4 defenders and score, But give him the ball in the right area and more than often it ends up in the back of the net...

Alli is a terrific young talent. But at 20, he's still learning...
