I thought I would enjoy putting 5puds out of CL more than I did in the immediate aftermath of the greatest ever European cup win. But in the week after Munich I was just blown away by supporting the best team in Europe. Now however the dust has settled. And I am LOVING the bonus of knocking 5puds' only decent side for 30 years out of Europe. Especially because of all the gloating (not you Moorp, you are a decent poster as is YV) up til Feb by many fans
Good lad morph. Also I appreciate it was every spuds right to gloat about finishing above Chelsea for the first time in three decades... Even if it was only for a week or so. Your squad is strong enough to survive your colossal misfortune. But I really think you missed the boat this year as you had no european distractions. roman is going large again so it will be tougher next season for you
We had Europa for half a season - Harry used the squad well for that...but we went out at the group stage so maybe not (although some of our youngsters got decent loans out of it). Can't see us finishing top 4 next season - it'll be the 2 Manchester clubs, Chelsea and Arsenal (not necessarily in that order). I fancy Chelsea will finish 2nd - if you have a 3 of Hazard, Mata and Hulk with Torres up front (4-2-3-1) that'll do pretty well - Torres won't be able to complain of lack of service I don't think. I think that front 4 (assuming Hulk is £35m ish) would cost more than our entire first XI and then some. Our squad is strong enough in certain areas - we lack strikers though - Defoe is our only recognised striker now.
