But even if Wigan do manage to stay up, although we will all be disappointed, at least the Toon Army will be able to give McManaman and Martinez a very special welcome to St James Park next season ....

Did you actually read the thread title?
It's asking the BOARD who they THINK and WANT to go down.
It isn't dedicated to SAFC.... And you'll notice I don't WANT them to go down..
Please also take a look on their board and you will see many of their own fans will agree (the PL form table is freely available online too).
You are of course entitled to your opinion as I am mine.
I however will refrain from calling your view stupid.

This is a tough thread to answer, because against my better judgement I DO have clubs I'd quite enjoy seeing drop.

The reason I say that is my reasoning for wanting say, VILLA down are purely over the utterly bizarre reveling their supporters showed when we dropped.
I certainly don't think they relegated us (it was fittingly an own goal) but the reaction of their fans was completely unfounded.
It's made even more awkward because my best mate is a Villa fan and he's a good, fair lad and I don't wish relegation on him – even after I tell him how much I enjoyed our season in the Champ!

But WIGAN – speaks for itself after the weekend, but I'm not that petty really. With Wigan I just feel that being traditionally a rugby town they know they've always been on borrowed time in the Premier League.
The team only performs for a third of the campaign at most AND I've never rated Roberto Martinez. I feel he gets too many plaudits for perennial underachievement with a side that has proven it can play when it feels like it, so what's his excuse?

Now QPR. Encapsulates everything that is wrong, out of balance and contrived about Premier League participation. Lean on a rich benefactor to gamble on a lucrative league spot when the club is too small to self-fund and justify it.
The money they spent in January was obscene, irresponsible and desperate. Their conduct was poor, but had much to do with Mr. Redknapp's typically odious conduct.
Only sympathy I have for them is with their fans – however there should be a sense of natural order reintroduced to English football and not everyone can/should be in the Premier League frankly.

I don't think Sunderland will drop and I don't even wish them down, just that we finish above them so we don't suffer ludicrous wumming. No great love for Southampton, Stoke, and especially Fat Sam's Ham either I suppose if they go.

In truth though, as long as Newcastle survive with ease it matters not to me!
