I'd prefer a planet that has the capacity for sustaining an atmosphere. Mars lost its polar magnetic effect and as a result lost its atmosphere, water and potential for life.

I've been watching The Planets with Brian Cox btw :D
Coincidence that, I have just watched a program where they grew plants in a "Mars like" atmosphere to prove the potential for terraforming :grin:

Anyway, if the sun is going to **** us up we are better off moving to a younger solar system where we will get more time rather than just skipping a few planets away.

Jellyfish and lobsters are two examples of animals and plants that are immortal! That is to say they will never die from old age, only through injury or disease.
Not sure about lobsters but know it's virtually true of jellyfish. One bloke cut bits off a jellyfish umpteen times including the brain 3 times and it just re-grew the missing bits.
