Precisely. Robbie, I understand your point, and you argue it well. But regardless of how well Hughton did at Newcastle or Birmingham, the fact is that he is not doing any good here. He had a good ten games. That is it. In our last 40 Premier League games, we have amassed 39 points, and we're getting worse and worse and worse. I desperately want the man to succeed, as he is a genuinely decent person, but, for over a year now, he's been a crap manager. In that aspect, his record at Newcastle is completely irrelevant.
I would imagine you'll be saying this (and have been) for some time. And how we play has a very strong influence on results.
Hi bors, I think a lot of our fans are losing sight of the long term for our club. One faction representative by Carrabuh wants an immediate change of manager and the team playing entertaining football. On the other hand there is RBF who is prepared to put up with poor football as long as we maintain our PL status. The board has to consider its integrity. McNally has reiterated that as long as CH keeps us out of the bottom three the board will not renege on their position. For the long term it is essential to stay in the PL. If we are to improve the capacity of the ground and that is going to cost millions but it also must be borne in mind that money must be made available to improve the team. We all want to see our team play entertaining winning football but this league is a tough one to compete in and I for one am prepared to lower our standards if it means achieving our long term aims. At the moment the board have to achieve a fine balance, maintaining faith in the manager and the players but keeping their options open if the position goes tits up. OTBC.
Carrahub you talk rubbish were you at the Man Utd game we were brilliant I really enjoyed it, I also really enjoyed the West Ham game We are one of twelve who may go down, if we survive next year we will be one of twelve who may go down there will always be tough times up here cant you see that? , is it so difficult to understand what we are up against??, I am not defending CH or anyone but for heavens sake get a sense of reality 10th is really the best we can get for many years , survival is more likely to be the aim every year for sometime to come that's why Lambert ran away, no different to Fulham We just need some attacking options on the management team Calderwood out Hucks in
Brilliant?!!! We're you there ? We matched a piss poor Man U team all match and simply lost to a fortuitous goal. Brilliant is not a word that could be used to describe ANY performance from us this season.
My point is that he is NOT "a crap manager", so you should be asking why he hasn't been able to do better than he has. Managers are not "crap" or not, they succeed in some posts and fail in others (this holds for pretty much any manager you care to think of). It is too early to say whether CH is failing or succeeding at Norwich, though large numbers of people have already made up their minds that he has failed. Time will tell, but it is quite within the realms of possibility that on Saturday (say) we have a SAF moment in which a match is won and the manager never looks back. Or the reverse. My other point is to do with the likelihood that replacing Hughton will make things better. Whether it will or not depends on what the problems are. People talk as if Hughton himself is the problem. That IMO is too simplistic. Hence my suggestion that people ask themselves why he has struggled to do at Norwich what he was able to do at Newcastle and Birmingham. There are countless examples of managers being replaced because they struggled in the situation facing them, only to have their replacements fail too.
Look at the piss poor team! 01 de Gea 12 Smalling Booked 03 Evra 23 Cleverley 15 Vidic 06 Evans 18 Young 16 Carrick 14 Hernández Booked (Fletcher - 87' ) 11 Giggs Booked (Welbeck - 45' ) 26 Kagawa (Januzaj - 69' No fecking credit to Norwich at all, We played well, and the title of this post is bollocks or maybe I'm easily pleased, I've seen every fecking thing listed this season, even at away games, maybe not in abundance ( to say the least) but I've cheered great tackles, good free kicks, passing moves, dribbling etc etc.
I think we actually looked really bright, counter attacked and kept the ball in that match. Not really getting why people are saying it was a piss poor Man U side, seems like whenever we beat or come close to drawing a top side you have certain fans come out and say stuff like they were crap on the day or didn't turn up as it was the end of the season. Get's on my nerves!
