The bogs in bluewater
Thank god, these are becoming rarer and rarer in fact I can't recall the last one we had at CAFC- Anyone?

The old rule of thumb used to be 10 years service which is now almost an impossibility. I always found them a humiliating money grab anyway.

(sorry but feeling mean, I just got lumbered for my third poppy of the season) Can anyone tell me where to buy those woollen ones that can be washed and reused?

It goes back to the day when footballers weren't that well rewarded and was a little something to say thanks for 10 years loyal service.

The proceeds frequently went as a down payment on a pub.

The home friendly against Inverness Caledonian Thistle before last season was Colin Powell's testimonial, which made it more of a shame that there were so few people there.

The last one I remember was Mendonca's? I too have always attributed it with 10 years service. Thankfully a lot of clubs seem to have stopped doing them bang on the minute they reach that milestone. But they are worthy, the proceeds always go to charity and it's nice to welcome back former faces.

Thanks for that website Super. I have ordered another poppy from there. I keep a poppy on one of my jackets all year round, as I feel it is necessary to remember those heroes, not just at this time of year, but all year.
