    Don't you start!!

In all seriousness, some of the things I've read on your board are laughable. It's good to see a Liverpool supporter not making it out to be a Liverpool vs United thing. One even said that if it was a Utd player I would back him to the hilt...erm hello?

Surely once Evra realised this he should have just accepted it!

Agreed, let's not go over it.

I'm still astounded that there are plenty Liverpool fans who naiively think he wasn't meaning it in an aggressive, derogative manner. Talk about blind faith.

Of course he was, it is too obvious for words and to think anything else is just, frankly, stupid.

    The club have come out of this looking like fools. Time to accept and move on but in the meantime read this as it is the general consensus of the vast majority of people out there;

I don't get the well if you understood Spanish bullshit.

We're in England so what's speaking Spanish got to do with it. Where I work if a South American (we have over 150) said 'negro' to a black Spaniard (also have probably 80 ish) guy in an argument - he would get 7-14 days added to his sentence or get shipped out to a CAT B prison.

We're in England so you have to respect English ways - I don't buy into this 'because he is a foreigner' bull ****.

If I got to Jamaica and call someone a 'batty boy' which is common British Banter - I'm seriously looking at getting stabbed up.

I can't believe there are some Liverpool fans defending Suarez' use of the word. Pathetic.

Yes Saurez is a great player, but as a fan there is no need to be a blind sheep.

Is that Lord Ouseley who is also on the Man Utd foundation board? No conflict of interest then, eh?

I know a friend who always joke with his Scotish friend that " he is the Last King of Scotland".The Scotish freind always
laugh it off. Our friend is a black man. If your friend can see that you are joking that is acceptable.

Doesn't really answer what I am asking though. If a black person calls a white person blanco, just like Suarez called Evra negro, then is that also racist?

He said black in refrence to somebody's skin colour, does that mean he should be banned for racism?

Wow, this argument is still raging on is it? Has nobody got bored of it yet?

Suarez was naive, didn't really do anything badly wrong, perhaps didn't deserve punishment set, FA was out to get him, he shouldn't have called Evra a Negro.

    Argument over.

Pretty much - I was in Barbados and I kept getting called 'white boy'. I was offended, and at Oistins fish market I threw someone over a table as I'd had enough of it. (i was pissed right up though!)

Not really, look at the people condeming Suarez. People like Oliver Holt who ghost wrote John Terry's autobiography.

He is saying that Suarez is definitely a racist and deserves his ban for being racist. Meanwhile back in Oct/Nov he actually asked if calling someone a "black ****" was racist (after John Terry had called Ferdinand the same thing) and laughably tried to claim according to a "black player" who wasn't named that it wasn't racist at all.

Funny eh? I'm sure there is no agenda involved here, and Oliver Holt and others' views are purely their own and have nothing to do with who they know and are in contact with.

Well good on you for taking action. Unfortunately here in the UK it is near impossible to be racist against a white person.

I was just trying to put a different slant on it Ze - a more realistic 'everyday' approach, forgetting he was a footballer. The article was mainly to do with other professions, making the point footballers shouldn't be treated differently <ok>

Do you have any sort of evidence that Oliver Holt played any part in writing John Terry's autobiography?

Most people aren't actually condemning the act though. They are condening the fact he has shown not one single shred of regret and has claimed he has done nothing whatsoever wrong when in actual fact he has used a racially abusive term, in this country, the one in which he lives and is employed.

Ditto Liverpool, who have absolutely tarnished their reputation amongst level headed football supporters in this country.
