He would be the focal point at United though wouldn't he? It's not like you've got a Ronaldo.

You don't need him I agree Depay plays on the left, I don't think Bale would flop though he's a very good player.

He wouldn't flop, he's shown what he can do in the premier league in exactly the same way that Di Maria wouldn't flop going back to Real for that very same reason.

It's horses for courses, some people adapt to living in a different country, others don't. That's called human nature and life.

I agree that right now we don't need Bale but if Di Maria were to go the other way then it is the perfect swap. Not only that, Bale is better.

Now, if the swap was Bale for De Gea then it's a different story, if our goal keeper leaves it's not a wide attacker we need to replace him. But if one wide attacker were to leave then a wide attacker is exactly what is required to replace him.

As long as the transfer calculator doesn't spit out a stupid figure then I see no problem with this one. Thing is, it's probably just a figment of someone's imagination anyway and is unlikely to happen.

I'd keep De Gea if given the choice.

De Gea has been very good. And I think this year has been truly exceptional for him, but it is unlikely that he will repeat it next season. What we need is a less busy GK and a GK who is not very often MOTM. I cannot recall a season that had the GK as MOTM on more occasions.

A better attack and more goals put less pressure on the team to have an exceptional GK. You of all people should know that after last season... <whistle>

Bale excelled at spurs. United are a different prospect.

He wouldn't be the focal point either. So would be in an environment very different to at spurs

No, we wouldn't. Given the option though I would rather we keep De Gea.

If we're giving Di Maria (who cost us £60m) plus £25m then why not just go for Ronaldo not Bale.

Right now we need a goal scorer. This would be a kin to the RvP purchase. He is much more the player we need. Real Madrid are out of the CL and likely to finish trophyless this season. If Bale looks dejected these days, so does Ronaldo. There is one last big move left for him and this is the perfect time for it.

Yep. If we're going to spend insane money edging towards 100million, rather buy someome who will represent value for money

The rumour mill is now in full swing. Since we are now on for any player available, why not Kane?

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...n-Gaal-lines-45m-swoop-Tottenham-striker.html

Barcelona has now said that even the likes of Messi, Neymar and Suarez could be sold if the "right" offer was made. It is time the GGs dug a bit deeper into their pockets. IMO it is better that the money is spent otherwise it will go straight to the GGs...<ok> why shouldn't the team or squad benefit from their panic ...<whistle>

Surely the transfer calculator will sort out what offer is to be made?

Absolutely. If it's Ronaldo or Bale then it's Ronaldo every time.

But I seriously doubt Real will sell, no matter how disinterested he looks. It would be signing the death warrant of any manager or president who agreed to it, whereas anyone who agreed to sell Bale would probably get a ticker tape parade.

Going to be controversial here but Ronnie is what 29 now. He was 2 more years at the top of his game max. Surely bale represents better value as he is what 24? Not as good a player but far more longevity.

Ancelotti won't be at Madrid next season, so there's the fatal flaw in that bullshit piece.

Of course he would be focal point and your star player.

What's LVG gonna do: sign Bale and carry on hoofing it to Fellaini

That last bit literally made me <laugh> <ok>

UIR is right though, Bale will draw defenders away but he wont be the focal point.
