Swansea has all the major shops that every major city in the UK has to be fair.....And every town and city has run down areas to be fair also. As for the Market then Swansea is up there with the best imv and the quadrant is very good as well....Our Bus station is very easy to use and understand abet it is far away from the train station.....OK when the Great western was running then it would have been close I remember it.....Swansea councils for many years have been responsible for making some very bad decisions but today it is all about cutbacks in funds that has a big say today.....Overall we are no worse than any other city including Cardiff who has many rundown areas itself........I am a proud Jack who loves my ugly Swansea warts and all.......

I would say that it doesn't have all the major shops - the fact that Starbucks closed their only city centre shop says a lot about the place, hell there's not even a KFC in the centre is there ? The city needs a proper mall with restaurants, coffee shops etc not the Quadrant that you can walk through in 2 mins flat - it needs to be a destination for the day.
Starbucks has moved into the enterprise park which opens up more opportunities for independent traders which Swansea has an abundance of . Mo Toys R Us closed left after Parc Tawe was near or completed .I don't notice anyone complaining that Mothercare closed in Cardiff Why not support our city instead of complaining
My point is not that the city centre needs another fast food place, but rather the fact that their absence says something about how attractive a prospect the city is.
