Made my day this thread Look - let's be honest. Most of us probably detest Cardiff, either openly or secretly, though I will miss the derby games this season. But it's made up by the fact we'll be playing better clubs this season at a much higher level. I totally understand those that feel differently about Cardiff our now ex-rivals. But I go back a long way with the Swans - and them. All this guff about two clubs in the Prem being good for Welsh football is crap. Both have been in the Championship for a while and Welsh football is at an all time low thanks to the FAW. If the roles were reversed they'd be rubbing our noses in it until their dying day. Most of their fans would love to see us fail so I've got no scruples about wishing them the same fate. It's not just local rivalry for me. I just think they're a horrible club with horrible fans who have a rotten reputation that disgraces Wales. Why are they hated by the fans of other clubs so much? Why was the World and his wife hoping against hope that they failed in the playoffs? Why were the Prem League administrators holding their breath when it looked as though they might get promoted? A club that is mainly foreign owned - they even have the name of another country on their shirts! Yet they spout about how unpatriotic us Jacks are, despite the fact that we're 75% Welsh owned. A Board that tried to loan its way out of the league last season and when that justifiably failed are now at long last cutting their coat according to their cloth a la Swansea. By contrast, most other fans have welcomed us to our new League, apart from the usual anti Welsh stuff, admire the way we play and are relieved it's us, not them. I'll be watching their results with interest because I really want them relegated - same as they'll be watching ours for the same reason. We will lose a lot of games this season and just watch as the likes of Sparkey and Prophet comment with smarmy delight on our board, or morons like John Hughs make a comeback. They've had little to shout about lately but it will begin. You have been warned. Don't want to argue with Cardiff fans or my fellow Jacks whose differing views I totally respect, but I think I've made my views clear.
As you brought up violence and drug abuse......... local authority's crime rate measures against the national average. As per the Home Office 2010 to 2011 - Crime statistics are per 1,000 of the population within the local authority area CARDIFF COUNCIL AVERAGE Population 336,200 - Households 139,600 - Burglary 10.7 7.8 Criminal damage 17.5 13.6 Drug offences 6.6 4.3 Other theft offences 28.7 15.9 Robbery 0.8 0.3 Sexual offences 0.8 0.8 Violence against the person 18.3 13.7 local authority's crime rate measures against the national average. SWANSEA COUNCIL AVERAGE Population 231,300 - Households 101,600 - Burglary 8.1 7.8 Criminal damage 14.1 13.6 Drug offences 5.8 4.3 Other theft offences 20.9 15.9 Robbery 0.4 0.3 Sexual offences 0.6 0.8 Violence against the person 14.2 13.7 Neither city is a utopia but Cardiff easily wins the violence/crime/drug league hands down.... Did you notice you have 100,000 more population but only 30,000 more houses.... they cannot have been including all your caravans then.
Can see that the little team up east has their only big team in town for the season, isn't that cute ? Borini to score a hatrick I think
Betty Boop, Do you live in the largest traveller site in Wales? I mean its in Cardiff dear, and its quoted as one of the biggest in Europe, and you probably have more in that one site than all the ones in Swansea combined
I just hope all the Cardiff fans behave and wave nicely to all the Premier League fans travelling along the M4 bypassing them and their city on their way to play against Wales first and only Premier League team. By the way we'll be on MOTD not the FL show in case you didn't know
Well its about time i admited it i honestly think Cardiff are the football equivilent of the mighty all blacks.....................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................They always choke at the last hurdle as well.Just compare their world cup record with cardiff's play off record to see what i mean
will i miss the cardiff v swansea derby matches this season....errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...Not on your Nelly i wont ....we have far better games to look forward to.....
So you freely admit you 'manipulated' statistics only to still find that Cardiff has higher crime rates..... love it! The facts don't lie.
Dai, in all honesty you probably miss the toilet bowl so that doesn't really mean much I guess up till now neither team has been able to hack(a) it when it counts
I just read this: The majority of the Swansea population lives in the Townhill/Mayhill urban concentration camps, a complex meandering no-go zone for emergency services, vistors, and people with an IQ above 27. This densely populated area, with its myriad dark threatening cul-de-sacs populated by lifeless people, has a unique cultural delicacy. It is the only part of the UK where the Christmas dinner consists of microwaved pigeon, crow, or seagull, festively adorned with oven chips and a hearty side dish of euro shopper tomato ketchup. Townhill/Mayhill is also unique in being the only part of the UK where the legal age of consent is 12. Not being familiar with the area,is it true?
Cardiff's "diverse" retail economy is split into two diverse parts, the first in Canton and the second on Albany Road. The former consists of charity shops, takeaways pubs and Greggs. The latter consists of takeaways, pubs, charity shops and Greggs. Sadly the well-known luxury store HyperValue has closed and re-opened as Value Savers, There is a Cash Converters over the road where well-meaning, average folk sell their girlfriends, so that they can buy back the cat they sold for class A drugs. A brand new redevelopment in Cardiff, City Road, is catching up fast as a thriving late night attraction. It is popular with those looking for a different vibe to Canton and Albany Road. It consists of takeaways, pubs, takeaways, a Spar and takeaways - the Road has unfortunately failed in its recent bid to attract a Greggs. Is it true ?
Jager, after reading that I'm now starving...think I'll go and sell the missus (again), grab a pasty from Greggs on the way to the pub, pick up a takeaway on the way back and call into the Spar for a cheap gallon of cider. Thats Sunday sorted...cheers dude View attachment 6045
Aber bringing up the subject of hooliganism? Never! At least he didn't mention the Tories. Change the record ffs.
