It the weekend at last, and we will have a game of footy to talk about on our forum (just for once a win would be nice).

R.I.P the Technics 1210.

Sorry this may be old news now and most of you may not give a toss anyway but I'v just found out Technics have discontinued the 1210 turntable.

As a youth I had a pair of these and used to spend hours in my bedroom pissing the neighbors with my awful mixing of cheesy dance music tracks. These turntables were almost indestructible, you could stand on these things and they would still work.

Blimey, that looks space-age compared to my original deck the famous Garrard SP25 Mk IV (circa 1970), with a Teleton amplifier and KEF speakers this was the first record I played on it...

Love the lyrics at 1:45......"she knows her Rodneys from her Stanleys"...

He looks fit enough to get into our current starting line-up in the video too!

Did yours look like the one in this pic Sooper? I bet your set up cost a few bob back in the day.

That's the one, it was the staple of many a budget system in those days, I think my whole set-up cost around £70 which was when I was earning £49-a-month which was decent money for a 16-year-old...
