I was amazed to discover on Saturday that Jim and the boys are still going. There were a couple of very drunk women on the same train home as me who had just been to see them live. I can say with some certainty that they still play Don't You Forget About Me as they sang it all the way back from London.

No surprise really, with the Stones Rolling into their 70s and The Who not far behind them 'Zimmer Rock' is looming large...:grin:

In 1986, some friends and I booked tickets to see Simple Minds at the Milton Keynes Bowl. The tickets were booked well in advance, and we had no idea when booking that the Sunday of the gig was also scheduled for a World Cup quarter-final game. It turned out to be the Argentina v England 'hand of god' game. I will never forgive Jim Kerr for his gloating over England's defeat.
