That's because you killed all your new braincells dropping acid back then, so the only ones left are full of what you heard then!! Seriously though, totally agree - junior has just started listening to some early Queen, so I put Night at the Opera on for him to hear in its entirity - got to be at least 25 years since I'd last heard it and I remembered almost every single lyric....he hates my singing
And to continue his musical education, off to see these guys tomorrow night at the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow....

That was a great album. I remember seeing them before they were famous supporting Mott the Hoople just after they released their first album which is still my favourite Queen album. You could tell then they were something really special, very raw but so vibrant. 'Night at the Opera' was a few years later and so very polished in comparison but I often find many band's first albums often have something that's special that attracts you to them and Queen's first was one of those, I love this track which they used to really smash live...

I remember being blown away by this when I saw it on The Chart Show in their Indie countdown, and was hooked - Shaun Ryder (before all the drugs) was a great performer and songwriter...
