I think in the early 80's the BBC1 holiday program had a theme tune by a rock or prof rock band.

If this was the case then please could you tell me the song and group that did it?

I seem to remember Gordon Giltrap had a track that was a theme tune, was it this?...

The album 'Heartsong' was on was 'Perilous Journey', there's not much of it on Youtube but this was the 'B' side of the single...

An exceptionally gifted acoustic guitarist, worked a fair bit with Rick Wakeman...

 

Well I have always been a fan of theirs but that just blew my mind.

Very very talented musicians and never got the the break they so deserved. Gentile Giant were starting to get recognition in the states mid to late 70's. They were kind of victims of the punk rock explosion.
