Yes same with me. Mum and dad would have anything from classical, prog rock, Motown, funk just to name a few styles playing on the turntable.

My farther gets annoyed when I ask about some composers and call it classical music. He shouts that it not the classical period, this is romantic!

I guess you know what he would be going on about?
