Cheers Sooper, the weird thing is I was totally unaware it was his birthday on Saturday when I posted the motown song and the Kenny Everett Rod sketch yesterday.

Freaky!

Freaky!

That was one of the all-time classic send-ups, how I miss old Kenny...

This was another of his best...

A very beautiful song from Queen. Very sad to see Freddy the way he looks in this video filmed shortly before his sad passing. It has been said that the lyric "I find I still love you" was Freddy's way of saying thanks and goodbye to the fans.

I remember this was released the day after he died, a very emotional and touching song and video...

I must be turning into a sentimental old fool as I approach 40, I'm not ashamed to admit this song still puts a lump in my throat. I remember that day very well. A very young 16 year old UTR's arrived at work and straight away I could sense something was very odd, the atmosphere felt like a morgue. I remember asking one of the staff why everyone looked so sad and being told "Have you not heard?, Freddy has passed away". It really was one of those life moments and just showed how much he and Queen were loved by the masses!

I kind of chose that song as I keep hearing conversations about how life was different/ not so complicated not so long ago.

Apparently this song was written after Ronald Reagan's first visit to the UK. It applies to both Reagan and the endless mischief the U.S. get's herself and allies in to.

The statment at the top I just copied from the Youtube page with this upload on, I'm not trying to make a political statment as I just don't personally do polotics anymore. Just a great song from one of my fave bands..
