And a real treat, some new Alabama 3....was supposed to see them last weekend but festival didn't go ahead
Now how's this for a supergroup.... Budgie (drummer in Siouxsie and the Banshees) Lol Tolhurst (drummer in The Cure) James Murphy from LCD Soundsystem ...all mixed by Jacknife Lee....great tune
Something from the new Blur album... Fun fact....all the artwork for the new album was taken at my local outdoor swimming pool about 20 years ago....yes, they have an outdoor pool in Scotland!! Blur's album cover for The Ballad of Darren with its dramatic image of Gourock Outdoor Pool is emblematic of Scotland's wild beauty – Scotsman comment Britain’s stormy seas prove an inspiration for Britpop supergroup Blur By Scotsman Published 20th May 2023, 12:30 BST 1 Comment The song This Is a Low, on Blur’s 1994 album Parklife, took listeners on a trip around Britain’s poetically named and evocative shipping forecast zones. “Around the Bay of Biscay, And back for tea, Hit traffic on the Dogger bank, Up the Thames to find a taxi rank,” Damon Albarn sang, inspired by a handkerchief he was given when unwell, showing a map of the different areas. He later said it was probably his favourite Blur song. Now it’s been revealed that the front cover of the band’s first album in eight years will show a dramatic image of Gourock Outdoor Pool, with a solitary swimmer in the water and an unoccupied lifeguard’s chair. In the background, what appear to be storm clouds gather over the brooding grey waters of the Malin sea area, contrasting sharply with the bright blue of the pool. We fear The Ballad of Darren, if he is indeed the swimmer, may be a stormy one. However, the striking image will certainly do Gourock no harm. Scotland’s beauty can be wild, even threatening, but is often inspiring for the artistically minded.
watch the drums mate i would go if he ever came to wellington like the sleaford mods i would have to take one of the kids as it might be a bit raucous for mrs kiwi then again the mods crowd was mostly fifty something middle class people
A relaxing sound after Steels euphoria … sounds interesting and an album due Oct. 20th will definitely get a listen …
