Got there at 8:20, thought I'd get at least 20 minutes of their set, and was gutted to see about half of their last song! Weird, as Fontaines DC didn't come on until after 9 so a lot of hanging about... That's the fourth time I've seen Fontaines DC, and that was by far their best performance. Not a great fan of the Academy as a venue, but it was bouncing tonight. Was with Mrs Steels and every time the mosh pit got close she grabbed me and gave me that knowing look that said "Try it if you dare" ....a man can only take so much temptation though, so when jnr turned up off in we went for twenty minutes of madness, returning to her with big cheesy grins and sweaty bodies - thankfully she saw the funny side A big round of "**** the Tories" sang by the crowd in appreciation of all the hard work they're doing to ruin this country finished the evening off nicely.
Exactly, milking the F$%K out of it, and yes a cash cow for sure It's been rehashed for way to long now, the line needs to be drawn somewhere as it's beyond boring now in my opinion. Sorry, lets liven things up a little bit now from one of the greatest rock n roll bands of all time
Another Tuesday, another gig....this time down the Queen Margaret Student Union in the West End of Glasgow. Another fine venue, seen some great bands in here over the years. Tonights entertainment courtesy of Leeds boys Yard Act - been following these guys for a while now, and saw them at a festival back in the summer so really looking forward to this one...
And a great new tune from another Leeds band, the legend that is Dave Gedge....this is as good as anything they've done over the years IMO... Seems like Kiwi agrees....
