Trust me, if you saw them live, you would be converted in one evening. I've seen them a few time, from their early years back in 98, up to last weekend. Dave Grohl is an amazing front man, and the rest of the band are great musicians. Their sound may be a bit "American", which is the only criticism I can make, but with tunes ranging from soft rock ballads to heavy, almost thrash-like, rock the show is impeccable.
I respect your music taste steels so must try harder, it may be the American MTV sound that doesn’t do it for me

To be fair pal, I don't listen to them regularly, although there's nothing wrong it's generally not a sound that gets me going so can understand your issue with them .....however, I'll always try to get tickets to see them live as they are phenomenal. Last weekend they did a two and a half hour set in a wet and muddy park in Glasgow, and the place was jumping - although I personally enjoyed The Cure more, who also did a two and a half hour set the night before (and they had better support bands!!) That's the joy of this thread though, all music tastes are catered for......even kiwis
