One of our own, Peter Doherty, releases his latest album today, along with the Puta Madres....first couple of listens through, it's very good - a lot calmer than some of his other stuff, age catching him up? He's just turned 40!! We're seeing him in Glasgow in a couple of weeks so hope the new material is as good live... Only bummer is it's the same night as Fat White Family who I am also a huge fan of
Phil Daniels was a guest this morning on the Chris Moyles show on radio x. Chris asked Phil about how he became involved with Blur on that song. Anyway Phil said he was given the option of a fixed sum for doing the Parklife single or royalties. Phil said he opted for the latter and is still doing well out of it to this day Smart man and top song by a top top band
Like me and Spotify....my list of "liked" songs is at least a couple of hundred, and then I head over to YouTube and find them to share with you (and everyone else of course!). Can't stand Chris Moyles - loves the sound of his own voice far too much and talks total pish most of the time. Used to listen to a lot of Radio X when it was available on FM up here, but now I listen to Radio 6, either on the DAB or stream it to the bluetooth in my car.
I respect that, Chris is 100% a Marmite type, love or hate. I do like Radio X's play list but good shout and thanks for reminding me about Radio 6 I have just recently got a newish vehicle with DAB radio, I will reprogram it to radio 6 next week as I do a lot of driving
At work I have to endure Heart FM, it sucks the life out of me I have had many an argument with work mates about this very commercial and dull radio station but being outnumbered have lost the argument I have nothing against Ed Sheeran but if I hear his song the shape of you (the smell of poo as I sing to it) any more I will have to ware ear defenders. They have been playing that song for about two years on heavy rotation every f-ing half hour and it just depresses me now
Just finished watching Hanna on Amazon....very good remake of the film, with some excellent music in it.... Karen O from Yeah Yeah Yeahs covering Smashing Pumpkins...what's not to like!
Don't think there's much doubt about how this band feel about the DUP and their policies on same sex relationships......
