One of my friends is a massive Snow Patrol fan, so we've been dragged to numerous gigs of theirs at her behest. They were really good live, until he cancelled a tour and had to go for throat surgery - his voice never recovered it's raw power and unfortunately now the band are a shadow of their former self - such a pity, really liked their early stuff....
This is from an album that I fully recommend if you've got small kids (plan ahead for Noah, Hoop-Leif) and don't want them stuck in the X-Factor loop.... The album, Colours Are Brighter, was a collaberation of a group of indie bands on the Rough Trade label, including Franz Ferdinand, Half Man Half Biscuit, Four Tet, Flaming Lips and many others - we bought this for my son when he was about two and he listened to it constantly. We went on a holiday to Portugal when he was about 3, turned up and all the kids club reps were there which he was excited about - they asked if he wanted to come along to the kids disco - his reply (and I'm not making this up).......do you play Arctic Monkeys!!! ****in loved him for that 3 years old, Arctic Monkeys and Kasabian mad - should've seen their faces !!! They still played Whigfield though
Some belters there! Mrs G is gonna be pissed when she slides on the talc when she gets up in the morning! (I couldn't stop myself sweetness! )
Beautiful day up here today, and the Highland Games have been on so all we could hear whilst sat out were bagpipes and drums! Here's last years winners of the pipe band competition...... You can just make out my house on the hill at the back - we have a perfect view of the whole event!
