The Super league serves one purpose and one purpose only, it allows those clubs that have ****ed themselves over financially to get an extra line of credit to continue this charade of keeping up with the Joneses when in reality Real Madrid should be struggling to keep up with the likes of Brighton.

Indeed. And that is exactly why the likes of Real, Barca, PSG, Juve, Milan, etc are so keen to go for it. They are some of the worst culprits, alongside Manure and Chelsea.

If it pops up again in a few years there's a chance we might get an invite, and if we accepted I'd have to stop watching Newcastle completely and that would suck.

These yanks have raped the game and they're now looking to rape it's bastard children. Tell them to **** off imo.

Agree, although I expect they will try again soon, in an attempt to break away and keep us out of it before we can become a threat.

Agree with those who have already said - if it happens and we are part of it then I'm done.

To be honest, if if is allowed to happen at all, regardless of whether we are a part of it or not, I'll pretty much be done.

The European clubs can't replicate the EPL in their own countries and reap the financial rewards as English clubs do so they are looking for a way to achieve that elsewhere, all about money which for the biggest means global reach, the problem which they don't seem to understand with their closed shop approach is that the real beauty about the EPL is the variety of clubs and some of the unpredictable nature of the games, a super league would never of had Brighton going toe to toe with Liverpool at Anfield and would actually be all the poorer for it.

This I don't think they'll want newcastle to be part of it. Newcastle need to get into Europe and maybe even the league or they'll be frozen out.

    Remember Leicester weren't invited

Leicester arent owned by a country.

Leicester have won more pots than Spurs have over the past 15 years.

    PSG didn’t join it originally.

As for United, our owners wanted it and our fans were a major part of grinding it to an abrupt halt.

Your owners will be just as bad, once NEOM is finished I’d expect a mega-money style tournament to be set up there that’ll blow CL revenues to smithereens.

I genuinely hope not. If it happens, I think lots of fans will walk away. It's not what football is about to true fans.

I think Obi means the owners of these clubs - obviously the fans to their infinite credit WERE the reason it failed.

I think it's doomed to fail as long as UEFA and the FA say "you can play CL and EPL or the super league and nowt" the English clubs wont go anywhere and even if they were stupid enough to do so they'd be back inside a decade with their tail between their legs while the other 86 clubs laugh at them and send them to the SPL <laugh>

All owners of the 6 PL clubs should have been forced out the PL at that point. Our owners should have been shot in the face for good measure.

The one thing that might save us from that fate is that our owners being linked to a regime that is so bad they may not risk any negative publicity

And they might vote us out because it will also be bad publicity for them to have Jacob Murphy associated with the European Super League, with a negative impact on revenues.

I was meaning that our owners wouldn't go for it. We already know the others wouldn't want us in it.
