I think people are crediting the board with that Chilcs. I won't accuse anyone of not doing that. I just don't see the big issue of a few bullish statements; that's what leaders do. If anyone says it isn't an issue, I'd reply asking why people keep posting about it.

I wouldn't expect Les Reed to say, "hold on to your horses guys, this is going to get bumpy"

I'm a fully paid up member of the happy-clappy club. I'd like to think that many of here know that. I've always been on the side of the club when it has come to player sales, manager departures etc. You don't see me having meltdowns.

But Schad is still 100% right on this.

 

But pissed off with that Mane thread being closed. It was specific to a big transfer and more about his ability than the actual transfer, I was having a sensible conversation with quite a few of the lads on here and putting it in here means that it gets swallowed up by the rest of the transfer speculation.

I notice someone is on Saintsweb suggesting that all European players prices have gone up as £ has fallen Er...yes, if you are planning to hand over all the money in full today. A few people are putting him right.

FWIW - whilst I would rather keep Mane I'd take anything remotely close to £35m or above. I think he is good for little old Saints but I actually dont think he will end up at a big team as I genuinely dont think he will reach that level.

FLT made a good point that Liverpool's recruitment seriously needs looking into if this goes through and c. £100m to us in two years or thereabouts. Not sure what the set up of your club is regarding this but Liverpool are in the second phase of teams in the EPL along with Saints and once clubs like us and others around start winning things, getting into Europe, with the turn in revenue you are likely to slip further oen the pecking ordewr than you already are. Not saying you are like this but the majority of Pool fans I know are somewhat deluded...

 

Nothing is certain that is the whole point. Can you really blame Reed for Koeman changing his mind? Or is it Reeds fault Koeman left now? On the Wanyama deal, oh **** Spurs managed to get him for a million cheaper, **** it's the end of the world...

People are all too ready to have a dig at the board and it's pretty sad. No one can predict the future and can only say what they think at the time. If you want the board to be open with the supporters you will have to accept the things they say won't always be 100% correct in the future or do you want the board to not tell us anything?

 

Our hands were a bit tied on Victor as he really wanted to go to Spurs. Had to get the best we could from them as he wasn't exactly on the open market. And for all we know he may have been on a promise from last season. Anyway we aren't down to our last million, it all evens out.

Boufal was amazing last year. Started as a CAM but played more out left last year. More than a little similar to Payet...

 

If Chelsea are interested in Boufal, I'd doubt we will get him.
