So are we looking for a striker who can score goals as the fans have been saying we have been missing or are we looking for a striker with other qualities? 4 goals in 26 appearances last season doesn't appear to be our 20 goal a season man
He’s never been a goal machine but if there is actually any interest it’ll be because his wider stats are telling them something. The statistical analysis goes way beyond headline figures to pick up on the attributes that indicate a successful footballer regardless of the team’s performance.
perhaps he the first signing, followed by another 4 who can bang in 4 goals each a season ? thus 20 goals
Pre-Season news ,rather than Transfer rumours but interesting nonetheless.KMc talking sense and professionalism again. https://www.ipswichstar.co.uk/sport/ipswich-town/mckenna-on-town-pre-season-8994704
Just listened to 15 seconds of Ashton on a recent podcast. I couldn't last any longer - you poor sods. Ashton oversaw 65 new signings in 4 seasons and left us in a sorry state. He'll be with you for a while and resign before the idiot who employed him catches on. Just like our idiot Lansdown here at Bristol City.
In all fairness, our club has been broken in every possible way for the previous 10 years or so, so whatever Ashton does, will not leave us any worse off. We have progressive owners, a progressive manager, and a far better squad then previously. Its like comparing a $30 dollar hooker, with a $1000 dollar hooker. You'll get screwed by both, but you'll get a better ride with one
Thanks for your concern, but we are in a better place now, enjoying better football than we have for many years. If,as you predict ,things go tits up under Ashton,we’ll cross that bridge then!
Reprintt, I echo my mates on here, I have been around the Ipswich block for 60 yrs and witnessed the great teams under Sir Alf Ramsey & Bobby Robson. There is a real buzz of excitement now, a Club on the mend playing a style of football we havent seen for years. Give us 2 or 3 yrs, and we will be up there!
Now that Port Vale have won the league 2 play offs, the league has been finalised for next year and for some reason (money??) we have been made favourites to win the league. I’d love this to be correct and we clearly have a chance but not sure it is correct as we have finished mid table since our relegation
I guess it was all the excitement, exuberance, huge record crowds for this League and others, and our bloodyminded optimism about all things ITFC! Oh, and the occasional superb fresh style of playing the game, which caused many managers to admire us!
Freddie clearly has potential. He's been moving around the clubs and if he settles and bangs them in, I can see him being a character and fan's favourite. Welcome Freddie!
I do want Celina and Morsey re-signed and quick. Two of our most talented players. Both championship class and they will know it. Hope MA does his business soon. MK is back from his Hols and will get the pre-season training under way in earnest. He has the luxury of time and familiar faces, trust and confidence, which he never had at the starting line-up last season. Moreover, he has been learning his craft and more experienced too. I am getting just a bit excitied now with just 8 weeks to go!
Sounds good on paper although the Rotherham fans aren't too enamoured by him by the sounds of it...could be that he put a transfer request in in January though
