The problem is also that bigger clubs will fancy that price. Newcastle have to get in line, but have certainly moved up the pecking order.
Happily that happens often enough, as evidenced by all the very good players we have managed to sign since the takeover. As far as likelihood of being able to afford a £43m transfer in the summer... I don't have a solid knowledge of what NUFC will have available to spend nor what players we'll sell to boost funds, nor how much those potential sales will bring in.
There's always more fish in the sea yes and sometimes a big one is missed which is what's happened with Guimareas and Isak. If Newcastle sign some good defenders they'll kick on next season I feel..... goals really isn't a problem and midfield isn't either.
I'm currently watching the Wolves v Arsenal match and the young lad Tommy Doyle playing in midfield for Wolves looks really good and has a similar playstyle to BrunoG, he's currently on loan from Man City but Wolves have an option to buy for 4.3mil but could be tempted to make a quick profit on him next year if we need a Bruno replacement.
Ashworth probably picked him so he'll be frozen out like Hall? Or maybe it's just part of the process to develop them.
Yeah, I mean just ask Lewis Miley and Lewis Hall. And it’s shocking what he did with Tino L. Good point.
