Can’t say Tonali worked out too well, the others that have been very telegraphed - Barnes, Hall, Livramento, Gordon - have been largely good, but follow a very similar pattern to the new rumours of Abraham, DCL, Kelly, etc. “Safe”, British.
I’m just left a little bemused as to how the early ambition of Bruno, Botman and Isak has given way to these really low key, mid table rumours. We know the Tosin and Kelly rumours are correct so it’s fairly safe to assume this catalogue of English cast offs is probably accurate. Maybe this is just the dead end we’re heading down. I didn’t think, at this point, we’d be waiting for Chelsea to get Olise so we can sign one of their English cast offs (Madueke).
Like I said it’s all rumour but we just seem to have no faith or interest in talent in Europe all of a sudden. Or when we do, as in Marma, we balk at the price.

Can you not give the lad a chance? He's had one season where he's had a couple of niggling injuries. Normally very dependable and adds speed to our defence which has been clearly missing. Bournemouth fans are convinced if he gets a run of games with us he'll be in England squad in no time.

Come on now Roland, An interview with a new player is a reasonable thing to do, engages with the fans, gives an insight into the player mentality etc. It will also help the player bed into the club I'd have thought. Would an 11 minute interview with Olise, Soule, Marma be worthwhile?

You can’t judge the signing of Tonali on what eventually happened out of our control.
I’d take Gordon’s safe Britishness again all day. Tino looks very good, Hall took time but looks similar. Hard to really judge Barnes because of the freak injury.
Tosin and Kelly are both very good proven PL players with loads of room to still improve and in case you hadn’t noticed were both free agents which massively assists our ability to spend elsewhere due to FFP.
Madueke has only just turned 22 so slightly harsh to call him a cast off.
Not sure why you’re obsessed with foreign players. I can think of loads of total flops we’ve signed from abroad.
Alongside Tonali, Bruno and Isak weren’t telegraphed so a good foreign signing is still possible even if the rumour mongers haven’t spotted it yet.
