We certainly need one; we've had some great CBs at this club over the years, a Mark Wright, Killer Svensson or Toby Alderweireld would bring about an immediate improvement in players around them. So would another leader like Jose Fonte

All this talk about Adam coming back, but what about us nicking Nat Clyne and gazumping the Mini-Skates?...he's still only 28.
I honestly think that Vestergaard was meant to be that player, but he's too slow for the PL IMO.
Chris Nicholl and Dave Watson were a pretty dominant pair for a couple of years here.
He's like a slow old horse sometimes, but while he can't learn to run faster, it's quite possible he can learn to react quicker. Needs to improve his concentration too, and cut out the silly errors.
If I'm being cynical, I'd say he looks like a commanding presence, until he moves...
I dont think he would settle for back-up and it would be crazy to not develop Valery. Can't see either happening but certainly not Clyne
Vestegaard does not work in a back 4. He's always the one sacrificed when we go 4 at the back. Not convinced by Bednarek in a 4 either, personally.
1 first and one back up. Bednerak will be first choice
We all thought Fonte was too slow for the Championship let alone the EPL. Sometimes, sense of positioning makes all the difference.
Wasn't a bad manager either. Always felt in his 4 or 5 years that Lawrie Mc was a hard act to follow. And look what happened after him (Chris Nichol that is).....
Id like our 4 senior CBs next season to be New Signing, Bed, Yoshi and vestergaard. Perhaps the young lad, Klarer, as a 5th choice for injury crises and cup games.
Would keep Maya and lose Vesty, as has been written above, physically and mentally he seems sloooooowwwww.... not forgetting his ability to be outjumped by players more than one foot shorter than himself - that, I find, truely remarkable.
So in short, Sale Soares, Stephens, Hoedt and Targett, Bring in a RB, CB and promote Vokins.... Okay so that's the defense.
