If we’re struggling with the wage bill and loaning players out, we won’t be committing to buying players. Lemina loan to buy is great but 30 games? ...I seriously doubt that he’d play that. If his relationship with Ralph can be salvaged I’d keep him now.
We did. How sustainable that situation was will forever remain a mystery, but the fact that our squad withered thereafter and two clubs have now seen the players become disenchanted in short order suggest that it probably wasn't going to be a long-lasting thing.
Like Fonte, he acted like a bigger move was a available and has burnt bridges with the club and management. Now he is scrambling around to move sideways(a metaphor for his playing style)
yeah, he's scrambling about .....but 30 games? i hope thats twitter BS.......I wouldn't take that deal regardless. Plus Wolves are reportedly pushing for another CM (40mil) from France and would join next season when his contract expires. No thanks
According to the Echo, Wolves are no longer interested in Lemina as they wanted a loan (and who'd blame them) and Saints want a sale (and who'd blame them). Shows the value of rumours....gone from a 25 million sale and Lemina having a medical to naff all in one day.
Bet Lemina can't work out why there aren't a host of top clubs fighting over his signature. His agent is going to be a busy man!
For all the whinging and wining that goes on I really think Ralph deserves a bit of credit for the way he’s handled the slightly inflated squad he has inherited. Plan A - give everyone chance to prove themselves Plan B - give fringe players every opportunity to seek their fortunes elsewhere if they want regular playing time Plan C - welcome them back when they realise that no one else wants them but make sure they work hard Plan D - if all else fails, reduce playing squad by loaning out one or two of younger players to gain experience and regular games before coming back to fight for a place. I’m slightly disappointed we haven’t (yet) signed another CB but I think the main positive I take going into the season is that we do have a coach who can improve players that we, as fans, have previously almost written off.
Everton have ended interest in Doucoure after bid of £36m was rejected. Maybe they'll come back in for Lemina?
They seem to be trying to chuck money about. £70m bid for Zaha and apparently now had £30m for Iwobi turned down! Seems good value for Arsenal that!!
Not at all frustrating that players that have been linked to us previously like Praet are being linked to clubs like Leicester. Whilst I appreciate it may have been pie in the sky when we were linked before, it’s a little bit galling as it’s a bit of an indicator as to how our stock has fallen over the last few years. Our shopping during transfer windows is definitely more Lidl than it used to be.
Fontes head was turned by Mourinho playing his mind games linking up his fellow countryman to a move to Manure leading up to us playing them, unfortunately Fonte bit, no offer arrived Fonte had burnt his bridges here and then ended up with a sideways move to the only club that could match his wages.
No recognised names, but people still surprised that the quality is just as good for a fraction of the price?
Arsenal refusing to entertain bids for Iwobi which don't meet their market value of the player. At the moment Everton are bidding £20m too much.
Luiz reportedly gone on strike at Chelsea due to interest from Arsenal. Another team looking for a CB possibly. I hope we've got a smart move lined up already.
