    My bottom line is that we've done ok out of Charlie on the whole considering how much we paid for him, but he is no longer up to the standard required for us so he will move on and go with my best wishes.

    I have said it before but footy fans are an odd lot. Resentful when a player doesn’t sign for us. Resentful when a player wants to leave. Resentful when a player they want gone won’t take a large pay cut in doing so. And if a player should dare to get injured then it’s a case of “getting rid”.
    In their own lives, I suspect they may feel differently about things.
