I really hate these so called "super" players that have the whole "brand" around them as well. Pogbas the same.
I was talking to Pogba's auntie the other day. She said he's had enough. Wants to go back to his roots and keep out of the limelight. Considering joining a decent club where he can concentrate on playing football with no wages. Southampton? nah Portsmouth!
https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2019/07/...eicester-enquire-about-southamptons-mario-le/ Arsenal and Leicester said to be interested in Lemina.
Interesting.... I'm not sure where Lemina fits into our team for next season, but he's undoubtedly quality.....
Watching him tear it up for Leicester would be painful. But, its more about the recoup now. And two poor seasons does tell us a lot about his application.
It’s been said before on here, but if Lemina means Ralph gets two players he wants then so be it. I think we’ll make a profit, simply from market inflation. IMO selling Lemina so early in the window indicates how tough we’re finding shifting some others(quelle surprise) - if this means we can go get our ins in sooner rather than later, that’s a massive plus.
Not sure they'd be much protection for their backline though. I'm actually quite happy that Leicester are apparently interested, because I presume they'll accept that a reasonable fee would be in the region of £80m - £100m. After all, they are the ones who take a world record fee paid for possibly the best player in a particular position, and use that as a barometer thereafter. As opposed to considering the actual ability of the other player(s).
In all seriousness, there’s a cracking player in there if focussed. I actually think he’d do very well at Arsenal where he knows he’d have to try.
If memory serves he was not the first name on the team sheet for us, so should have been trying for us!
Same with Smith, Arsenal debut at 16, England u16 caps then had a ruptured cruciate and a double fracture. He was told he would play again, but his career would be over at 26, which was infact how it played out.
Thinking you’re better than a team and knowing you have to be better to be part of a team, bring out different qualities. I think he’s like a talented Hoedt in some ways.
Really? I think if he went to Arsenal, he’d look like the steel they always needed in front of the defence until about, oh, just before Christmas. Then both he and they would begin to look extremely fragile and prone to collapse under pressure. In fact I predict if Mario goes there, he’d be the next combative midfielder to not be the Patrick Vierra they still haven’t come close to replacing. That probably says more about Arsenal than it does about Lemina btw.
When he arrived he should have been hellbent on becoming one of the best midfielders in the league, to show that Juventus had made a mistake in selling him. But most of the time he strolled round the pitch in second gear looking unfussed. I still remember the Chelsea semi-final.
