They're 2-0 up from the first leg against the 2nd best team in Cyprus. Can't say that I'm surprised that nobody can be bothered, especially as it's on TV.
West Ham's remaining home games are Arsenal, Liverpool, Man Utd and Leeds. They also have to travel to City. A few relegation 6 pointers on the road, too.
The top 2 will probably win. They will have to throw the Man Utd and Poool games lest it helps Spurs finish in the top 4, So they will have to prevail in the "6 pointers" to escape.
congratulations Ern cant begrudge you the sweet taste of silverware nice to see Moyes get some success too tbh
Cheers mate, I doubt it'll happen again in my lifetime, so I'm gonna lord it over you lot until you win something,or we get relegated. Whichever comes first.
Well done, there is a lesson for clubs like ours in your victory - if you enter any competition - take it seriously and give it some respect
I think you should be posting this in the Rennes board, as their refusal to reschedule our match is what ultimately eliminated us
Us being **** and playing B Team is what ultimately eliminated us. As with any competition, if you aren't willing to respect it and take it seriously, don't feign shock and amazement when you're out on your arse.
Of course they should. Teams shouldn't get to avoid fixtures just by saying, "nah". There's literally zero chance that UEFA would've allowed Madrid to be eliminated that way.
Losing to Mura would have been academic if we beat Rennes, and given we won our home games there's a reasonable chance to believe we'd have pipped Vitesse to the second spot on both head-to-head results and goal difference But Rennes didn't want to reschedule the fixture, yet UEFA somehow came to the conclusion that it was our fault the other team were doing a runner and so we were punished for it Except we were playing full-strength teams against Rennes and Vitesse, and the irony is the team which beat Mura 5-1 at home was far more weakened than the one that lost 2-1 away What saw us eliminated was Rennes being awarded a 3-0 win for a match they were refusing to show up for, which was especially idiotic from UEFA given Ligue 1 went on its winter break a few days after the match was supposed to be played so there was plenty of time to rearrange the fixture (i.e. tell Rennes to stop being a bunch of tarts) but as with all things with governing bodies they went for having an easy life
We lost 2 out of 5 matches we played in the group. Mura was an unacceptable and unprofessional performance from everyone who played. Mura were 10 ... yep ...TEN years old as a club when they beat us. Our team that day was: Gollini Sanchez Rodon Tanganga Ndombele Doherty skipp sessengon Gil Ali Kane Subs Moura Davies Hoejberg Son Dier That team cost us £250m excluding Kanr, Tanganga and Skipp. There was no excuse and it along with only taking one point from 3 away games was why we went out imho
