Birmingham did it after beating Arsenal in the League Cup Final. Wigan also did it after beating City in the FA Cup Final.
They've appointed a Sporting Director..... ...and it's...... please log in to view this image He's never played for any other club, speaks no other languages and has zero experience. This should be a spectacular success...
I know. I can just imagine Moyes taking players who Mark Noble thinks are better than his own choices... ...Oh yeah, no I can't. At best, it's a sop to an old warrior...
Top of the league: https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/football-violence-arrests-england-wales-b2172815.html For fan arrests. Birmingham and Millwall leading banning orders will surprise nobody.
Jarrod Bowen made history this evening as he equalled West Ham's all-time record for goals scored in European competition by a single player. The record is six goals.
I think it's extremely harsh to be taking the piss out of them for this. They're bound to be behind the much bigger London clubs on these stats. You wouldn't expect them to have had a scorer like Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea, Fulham or QPR have, would you? For the record, these are the following top scorer for each club in Europe: Spurs: Harry Kane, 45 goals. Arsenal: Thierry Henry, 41 goals. Chelsea: Didier Drogba, 36 goals. QPR: Stan Bowles, a remarkable 11 goals in 8 games in '76/77. Fulham: Andy Johnson, 11 goals. West Ham: Jarrod Bowen, Johnny Byrne and David Cross, 6 goals. Millwall: Dennis Wise, 2 goals. It also wouldn't be fair to compare these goalscorers with people who played for them and others. Defoe scoring 23 for us, for example. Frank Lampard's 25 for Chelsea or Ian Wright's 15 for Arsenal. All very unfair.
For every goal scorer, you could produce the following measure : Season, Club, Player, Domestic games played *** , Domestic goals scored, UEFA games played *** , UEFA goals scored *** as a factor of 90 mins So one Spanners player, for the one season they played in UEFA land, may have scored 6 goals and also been prolific in their domestic league.
Declan Rice being tapped up by his idol, Yaya Toure. Maybe we can do a Defoe and pick him up on the cheap when the Spam get relegated?
Alternatively, like Parker where Karrunt Brady insisted for months he wouldn't leave - then he signed for us on Deadline Day for a tidy fee?
