By the start of next season, 12 of their squad will be over 30 years old -

    Zabaleta (35), Fabianski (35), Martin (34), Sanchez (34), Noble (33), Randolph (32), Snodgrass (32), Ogbonna (32), Reid (32), Yarmolenko (30), Cresswell (30), Antonio (30).

Add in Wilshire and Lanzini are irretrievably broken and that's 14 players with next to no value and a serious rebuild needed urgently...relegation or no.

I do hope that it's relegation.

Ouch. That’s pretty damning. And they have no major source of additional income either with regards to European football. They may have to sell their two biggest assets in Diop and Rice to help fund a good enough rebuild - and if they do go down, those assets’ values decrease whilst the rebuild naturally becomes so much harder. They absolutely have to stay up, this potential relegation could be the most brutal one they’ve faced.

This is what normally happens if you 'invest' in the squad....which is a euphemism for pissing money up the wall on players who are actually no better than the ones you already had.

Them getting relegated would put a nice sheen on what has otherwise been a thoroughly miserable season.

It's also what happens when you spend years giving it Billy Big Bollocks, telling all and sundry that you'll be a top 4 club within 3-5 years, and going about your transfer business as if that pronouncement is an accurate prediction. All that happens in reality is that you end up being fleeced CL prices for pub team players, as the boards of the selling club tend to be infinitely more competent and intelligent than the 3 stooges at West Ham.

I saw this on Twitter and remembered this post:

Our transfer business has been far from perfect, but it's important to look to the future when you can't just outbuy everyone.
West Ham's older players wouldn't be such an issue if they had a lot of youngsters learning from them, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

we're not run like a circus, circuses are well run and provide entertainment the crowd enjoy.

Now they're banning ST holders for waving GSB out flags

From the outside, it looks like the 'tipping point' has come. I've seen a few things indicating that a large proportion of fans either don't care about being relegated or would welcome it.

If the next few games play out as expected, they're quite likely to get their wish. If that happens, the true horror of Stratford will start to be revealed. I was at Wembley this time last year to watch us play in front of 29,000 fans in a huge ****ing soulless bowl. I don't recommend it as an experience but having that week in and week out would be hugely damaging.

Short of being purchased by a 'money no object' purchaser, who pumps huge money into the squad, it's hard to see what would turn things around.

How do those terms include banning someone because they could be a source of annoyance to any other person?! <laugh>
    That's just legalised theft.

Maybe they should consider banning the ton of away fans that sit in the home stands first?
I know a bunch of Liverpool fans that attended the recent game.
One went with his kid, who helped to camoflage them by being miserable for the whole match because he couldn't sit with the other Scousers.

Diop isn't an asset, he's a liability. As to fans wanting relegation, yeah, some do, I don't because we could quite easily do a Portsmouth. I don't mind them being owners, I mind them making football decisions, especially Sullivan, he thinks he's good at it, despite buying Mido and Benni 'Big mac' McCarthey.
They won't ban uncomplaining customers, especially as it's rumoured they were actively selling the home end tickets to away fans because £££.

Can't say I've seen him much but was basing my judgement on players I think you could make a profit on should you go down and Diop seems to have a solid enough reputation at the moment, especially as he's still young. Players like Anderson, Fornals, Haller and Yarmolenko are where you'll be ****ed, I'm presuming they're some of the big earners that'll be a drain on your wage budget and will no doubt be a fraction of the value you paid.
